Scoping practise today! Note to self: don’t talk when eating carrot 🤭😂 (this is me) #mySLTday #Dysphagia #acuteSLT @SALTQEH
Team QE have been doing “SALTy Bingo” (again) and this time, after 2 wks of antics I was crowned the winner today! My dear colleagues are accusing me of cheating, but I fear they’re just sore losers! #mysltday #saltybingo #wellbeingatwork #nhsbanter @LGTSALT
#NutritionAndHydrationWeek and I got roped into having a nasogastric tube placed to demo for staff! New appreciation for the combative behaviour and pulled NGs of our dysphagic patients! #mysltday @LGTSALT
What a great model on zones of practice for LGBTQIA+ - I'll be taking this back to @LGTSALT HQ for us to reflect and grow in educating ourselves, our team & organisation to be the best allies for our colleagues & service users. #RCSLTConf2023
🥳 Happy #RCSLTConf2023 everyone!
🗣️ We're delighted that @jbmdavies & @AuDHD_SLT
are talking about @RCSLT & @uksltpride's LGBTQIA+ working group.
🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ To mark it, we're thrilled to publish the LGBTQIA+ affirming zones of practice.
👀 Full LGBTQIA+ guidance coming soon.

Our students finished placement with us at @LGTSALT & I received wonderful feedback! Students remind me how hard it was training as an SLT; how relentless & unforgiving uni is. My talented team do amazing things despite low NHS resource 💜 #mysltday #slt2b #wespeechies @RCSLT

H&N cancer is seen as a predominantly white male condition. When we look at London H&N data we see incidence of laryngeal cancer is higher in Bangladeshi females c/w white counterparts.
We are looking for an SLT from the Bangladeshi community who would like to work with us..🧵1

‘Perhaps when we hear “no rehab potential,” “unsuitable,” or “doesn’t meet the criteria,” we need to challenge it…… we need better policies, better education, & more investment in rehab as an integral part of clinical care.’ – at Newcastle Upon Tyne, England
