Today, after more than two months since the last major prisoner exchange, 261 Ukrainian defenders and 9 civilians returned from Russian captivity. Most had been held since 2022. Our @TonyaLevchuk was there to welcome them. And as always, Liberty Ukraine brought fresh apples, water, and other essentials. Watching our defenders take their first bites of freedom is a moment we won't forget. But every exchange holds two very different realities. There are those finally coming home. And there are families still waiting, holding photographs of their loved ones, searching every face, hoping that one day it will be their turn. They keep showing up, even amid air-raid sirens and the constant threat of russian attacks. The plight of Ukrainian prisoners of war receives far too little international attention. Thousands remain in russian captivity, many cut off from their families and the outside world. They cannot make their voices heard. But we can. Remember them. Speak about them. Share their stories. Ask your elected representatives to keep their return and protection on the international agenda. Be their voice.
