Or why, in 1903, did the British Colony petition the Ooni to settle the beaded crown dispute regarding the Elepe? Your AlÑàfin is closer to Lagos than the Ooni. Did your AlÑàfin vacate his palace? Kẹ́ru mọ́ ra ẹ lẹ́ru, kiwọ́fa mọ́ra niwọ́fa, kẹ́lẹ́gbẹ́ mẹ́gbẹ́ ẹ.

URGENT PUBLIC APPEAL I never imagined having to make a post like this, but I desperately need your help. On October 31, while covering a wedding at Oriental Hotel, Lagos, my bag was stolen from inside the bride's room. The bag contained my MacBook Pro M1 and FOUR external hard drives holding approximately FIVE weddings yet to be delivered to my clients. These are not just files. They are people's once in a lifetime memories, months of hard work and my livelihood. Thankfully, we have obtained CCTV footage showing the individual entering, taking my bag and leaving the hotel. I'm offering a N500,000 REWARD for credible information leading to the identification of this individual and recovery of my belongings through the appropriate authorities. Please you can send a message or call this number for any update 09033892670 Please guys help me repost abeg, this is very important please. πŸ™πŸΎ

Nigerians can contest and win elections in the US, Canada, the UK, and other Western countries, but Nigerians living in Nigeria cannot dream of vying for a political post outside their home state. In fact, in Lagos, non-Yoruba Nigerians are threatened with violence against voting for any party that is not the APC. Nigerians feel more at home abroad than they do outside their home state in Nigeria. They pay taxes to the state but dare not demand accountability from the state government or contribute to political activities and conversations in the state. When you ask, β€œWhy is it so,” dim-witted urchins emerge from their hopeless hideouts to attack you and ask you to β€œgo back to your state.” Nigeria does not have the colouration of a country.✍️
US midterms: Four Nigerian Americans record victories in elective positions. Four Nigerian-Americans have won elective positions in the November 3 midterm elections in the United States, while the result of another candidate, Segun Adeyina, remained uncalled as votes were being counted. The winners are Will Jawando, Junior Ezeonu, Oye Owolewa and Carol Kazeem, who secured positions in local government and state legislatures across Maryland, Texas, Washington, DC and Pennsylvania

Dear Mr. Governor @jidesanwoolu, Cc: @IdrisConnecting, @Riddwane, @gbenga_omo I write to you today with a profound sense of urgency, returning to a matter of significant cultural and economic imperative for Lagos State: the institutionalization of the Gele Festival within the State’s flagship Detty December calendar. Months ago, following my initial proposal, the Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe (@IdrisConnecting), publicly affirmed the merits of this initiative. His acknowledgement celebrated across national media, including The Guardian highlighted the Gele’s global prominence and promised its central integration into the State’s proposed Yoruba Week. Yet, despite these public assurances, months have lapsed into quietude, leaving a vital promise unfulfilled while the deliberate erasure of our heritage gathers momentum.Β  Silence in the stewardship of culture is a luxury we can ill afford. While our institutions remain passive, revisionist actors have launched an aggressive campaign to sever the Gele from its Yoruba roots: 1. Digital Falsification: Vigilant Yoruba archivists recently uncovered and systematically dismantled a fraudulent Wikipedia entry engineered to rewrite the historical genealogy of the Gele. 2. Intellectual Piracy & Bad Faith: We witnessed a brazen attempt to co-opt the masterwork of Dr. Azeezat Abiola Amusat, who expertly styled the Gele worn by BeyoncΓ©. When Dr. Azeezat rightly instituted legal proceedings, the offender merely excise the images of BeyoncΓ© and re-uploaded the content, a calculated gesture that demonstrates deliberate, bad-faith intent to appropriate our heritage under false nomenclature. 3. The Irony of Local Venues: Most concerningly, events seeking to rebrand and claim Yoruba cultural property continue to find safe harbor within venues in Lagos itself a stark contradiction for a state that stands as the historical heartbeat of Yorubaland. The Gele is not a mere accessory; it is an architectural triumph of fabric, an enduring symbol of aristocratic elegance, and a living testament to Yoruba feminine artistry. What we fail to formally document, aggressively celebrate, and legally safeguard will inevitably be claimed, renamed, and monetized by others. As Special Adviser, Mr. Aregbe’s primary duty is the uncompromising protection and projection of our cultural sovereignty. History is rarely kind to public officers who observe the slow dissipation of their people’s legacy with indifference. I urge the Lagos State Government to move decisively from sentiment to execution. Let us establish the Gele Festival this December to showcase our master artisans, empower our creative value chains, and permanently anchor the Gele’s identity on the global stage. Furthermore, by extending an invitation to our sister states across the South-West, Lagos can lead a unified regional front for heritage tourism. Our culture demands more than applause; it requires institutional resolve. Let us act before our history is written for us by foreign hands. Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration. Yours faithfully, Ademola
Thank you Ademola, This perfectly aligns with the Lagos State Government's proposed Yoruba Week, which will come up before the end of the year. Gele, being a Yoruba traditional headtie that is now popular within West African countries and around the world, should definitely be a big part of the event. This is to showcase our rich culture, elegance, and the β€œEko For Show” spirit. #SeeLagosSeeCulture Cc @Mz_Tosyn & @Yorubaness , your initial posts on the subject is noted. @Riddwane

I had a great time on Masoyinbo, exploring the importance of Yoruba in our society and why we must preserve the language, celebrate our culture and pass our rich heritage on to future generations. Yoruba is more than a language. It is part of our identity, history, values and what connects us as a community. While our diversity is one of our greatest strengths, preserving our indigenous languages is a responsibility we all share. Building a greater Lagos means investing not only in infrastructure and public services but also in our people, culture and values. We must work together to keep our heritage alive for generations to come. Masoyinbo is doing a wonderful job of preserving our heritage while keeping us informed and entertained, whether in Lagos or anywhere else in the world.

WE ARE SOUNDING THE ALARM‼️ NOW THE EVIDENCE IS IN OUR HAND. Dangote's Olokola Deep Sea Port FGD form. 10,000 hectares. It's going to be the BIGGEST, DEEPEST PORT IN NIGERIA. Right on ILAJαΊΈ SOIL. Real Question: What skills do youths need? WELDING. FABRICATION. ELECTRICAL. MECHANICAL. MARINE. CRANE. HEAVY EQUIPMENT. ICT. Did they write FISHING? No. That is why some of us fought for MARINE UNIVERSITY and the ABOTO TECHNICAL SCHOOL. And what happened? **NDDC ABANDONED ABOTO TO ROT. While Delta got Maritime University in Okerenkoko, while Akwa Ibom got Academy in Oron, Ilaje - the host of the biggest port - got NOTHING. Tell me: Today, how many Ilaje youth has STCW? How many has 6G welding certificate? How many can operate a port crane? If we don't fight now, the story is clear: PORT IN ILAJE. POLLUTION IN ILAJE. LAND TAKEN IN ILAJE. JOBS TAKEN BY OUTSIDERS. BUT WE HAVE ONE LAST CHANCE - UGBONLA. Ugbonla School of Maritime Transport & Logistics (@oaustechsug /@OSOPADEC_ ) is 60% complete. First admission 2026. @LuckyAiyedatiwa has linked it to Ondo Deep Sea Port and Blue Economy. @GboyegaOyetola This is not just a building. This must be our WEAPON. Before first ship berths, Ugbonla must produce: - Port-ready boys - dockworkers, pilots, marine engineers who know Ayetoro to Alape - STCW-certified Ilaje youth who will NEVER beg Lagos or Ghana for certificate - Ilaje-owned businesses - chandling, cold-chain, boat repair, logistics Most foolish communities wait until port is built before training. By then, @DangoteGroup brings his own people. **Ugbonla gives us 2-3 years head start. If we waste it, we are finished. WE DON'T WANT COMPENSATION. WE WANT CERTIFICATION. Compensation finishes in one market day. Certificate feeds your family for 30 YEARS. OUR STAND - NO COMPROMISE: 1. COMPLETE UGBONLA 100% NOW. Open it in 2026. 2. REVIVE ABOTO as welding & heavy equipment yard for Ugbonla. 3. TRAIN 1,000 ILAJαΊΈ YOUTHS FREE before any ship enters - STCW, BOSIET, HSE, CRANE, WELDING. 4. PUT IT IN WRITING - 60% construction, 40% technical jobs for IlajαΊΉ. 5. NO ROAD, NO JETTY, NO LIGHT, NO PORT. IlajαΊΉ, they took oil without training us. They will take port if we sleep again. COMPLETE UGBONLA. EQUIP THE YOUTHS. OR LOSE EVERYTHING. Cc @seyilaw1 @EdemaOlugbenga #CompleteUgbonlaNow @Jersda94 @Clangbeat #AbotoMustWork #OlokolaIsIlaje #OndoDeepSeaport – at Igbokoda, Nigeria
The South-West Geopolitical Zone needs atleast two Specialized Universities: 1. Marine, Logistics& Blue Economy 2. Petrochemicals Around the Lagos-Ondo Coast; connected to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway for many reasons.

He was an industrious young man who was maternally from Obiaruku in Ukwuani Local Government Area, and paternally from Aragba-Orogun in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State. Biggie was a PalmPay agent covering Obiaruku, Abraka and Warri. He was married and a father to a 10-year-old daughter. He was a graduate of Delta State University, Abraka. According to information gathered from his relatives and associates, Biggie was involved in a phone-financing arrangement through PalmPay, where customers could purchase phones and pay in installments. The phones are programmed to be remotely locked when customers default on payment. The incident allegedly started after one Moses Okitikpi of Abraka purchased a phone valued at ₦185,000 through Biggie. He paid an initial deposit of ₦30,000 with an agreement to pay ₦11,000 weekly. According to the account, Moses defaulted on the weekly payments for several weeks, which led to the phone being restricted. Even after making some part payments afterwards, he reportedly continued to demand that the phone be unlocked immediately. His guarantor, Onome Okitikpi, who is said to be Moses' nephew and a POS operator around NUT Junction in Abraka, was also said to be involved in the matter. On September 10, 2026, at about 8:30 p.m., Biggie was reportedly confronted by Moses and Onome while he was on the road with his wife and daughter. They allegedly demanded that he immediately unlock the phone. Biggie reportedly explained that unlocking the phone was a procedural process that could not be done instantly and could take up to three days. The situation allegedly escalated. Biggie's phone and other personal belongings were forcibly taken. It was further alleged that when Biggie tried to retrieve his phone, he was pushed, fell, and hit his head on the tarred road. He sustained a serious head injury and developed internal complications. He reportedly remained in a coma for three days. Doctors recommended an emergency surgery estimated to cost about ₦10 million. Sadly, Biggie died on September 13, 2026, three days after the incident. The matter was reportedly lodged at the Abraka Police Station on September 11, 2026. However, according to family and friends, there is concern that the case has not received the attention it deserves. There is fear that the matter may be abandoned or swept under the carpet, as no arrest has been made since the incident. This is a call on the Nigeria Police Force, Inspector-General of Police and the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, to urgently intervene, ensure a thorough and impartial investigation, and bring anyone found culpable to justice. A young husband, father, son, and resourceful youth has lost his life over an issue that could have been resolved amicably. Justice must prevail. Bright Edafe Ppro Delta

"A Failure of Paternal Parenting.... ....Such a handsome and accomplished gentleman at age 43 with a first name that is Yoruba, but cannot speak Yoruba, not even moderately. It is very unfortunate...." - Olakunle Allison Dear Olakunle, You still don't get it! This man is unable to speak Yoruba, not because his father didn't teach him or the society couldn't have taught him but because he DIDN'T WANT to be able to speak and that is because held the Yoruba language and the people in CONTEMPT. He NEVER thought he would need it. If he had thought so, he would have learnt it since of only to deceive the Yoruba people that he is one of us. It is so for most Yoruba children born of Ibo mothers. Cases like the Adelekes are rare exceptions. Even for the Adelekes it is because their IBO MOTHER by foresight already had her eyes on the politics of Yoruba land because her husband, ÀÑfΓ  Raji Ayoola Adeleke was a very important man in Ede. Look, I have seen this phenomenon many times. I know some children I grew up with in Lagos, who bear Yoruba first names which they got from Yoruba fathers, spent all their lives in areas which are not even GRAS yet they couldn't even pronounce their own Yoruba First names. These people I am talking about have cousins who are complete IBOS, children who were not born in Lagos but are able to speak fluent Yoruba like any of us while living in the house with the same children who bear Yoruba first names! You know what? Those children, like Chinedu Rhodes-Vivour, can speak FLUENT IBO even when they grew up in environments heavily populated by Yoruba people. They speak Ibo with heavy Ibo accent. And such children NEVER marry from Yoruba land. Let me tell you, this man was NEVER called Gbadebo even if it was in his birth certificate. He was originally Patrick and when he got into Politics of Ikeja and Lagos West he was Chinedu for the simple reason that he believed Ikeja and Lagos West Senatorial district had a heavy or majority Ibo population His accent is IBO His wife is IBO His mother is IBO His loyalty is IBO HIs inner circle is IBO. Nnamdi Kanu's IPOB organised deadly attacks on Lagos under the guise of #EndSARS, this guy was with them and he did series of posts abusing Yoruba Elders. IPOB threatens the whole country, this chap took to social Media to say he identified with IPOB. Lagos State Government moved to correct the NUISANCE of Ibo traders, the boy moved to take sides with the IBOS against Lagos. His case is made worse by that FACT that he is not Yoruba by any stretch of definition and he demonstrates it all the time. We are not rejecting him only because he is IBO but also because he treats us with obvious contempt. He even told us on Live TV that he doesn't think in Yoruba. He must be confident like every other Ibos that Yoruba people can always be taken for a ride. There is NOTHING that will adequately defend him. Just leave it. #YorubaRonu #ThinkYorubaFirst Β© Adedamola Adetayo 03 October 2026
