You don’t understand. MDs are employees yet are not payed hourly but on production. Yet corporate medicine overhead is 75% meaning the MD gets 25% of what insurance pays them. Everyone you mentioned gets paid hourly unless they are company owners. I own my practice. I keep 75%.
These are the people who will run Medicare for All and Single Payer Healthcare.
You will NEVER fix Healthcare without including a Robust Free Market Medical Care system.

You have Free Will. Why do you want to deny the Doctors Free Will just because you want to use your Health Insurance? We are parents and have children. We are people like you. Sounds INHUMANE.
Sounds like you have a Health Insurance problem not a Doctor Distribution problem. If Your Health Insurance treats Doctors so poorly they are quitting perhaps your problem is with your Health Insurance.
Perhaps you’re looking at it all wrong. The Doctors are finding a SOLUTION to YOUR Health Insurance problem.
You did nothing to help us. We are helping ourselves and our children. We have a right to spend time with our children and not work like a slave for YOUR Health Insurance.

A physician converting from insurance participation to cash only hasn’t merely created an additional payment option. For the patients who previously used their insurance there, one option disappeared. That’s perfectly within the physician’s rights, but it has distributional consequences. If this occurs at scale, as Lighthouse actively wants it to, then patients who prefer comprehensive insurance can have increasingly comprehensive coverage while having fewer participating clinicians from whom to purchase care. That’s patient abandonment. 🤷

1 in 6 Doctors are so burned out they have either attempted or thought about suicide. Look it up. They want to die because they feel they have no hope.
How many others are just burned out and useless at home? If that’s not feeling like a slave tell me what is.
Most Doctors in the system long enough know what it feels like to be a slave in the system. Not having a SINGLE ounce of control. In several places I didn’t even have administrative control over my nurse for God’s sake.
Academics are learned men in high towers. They offer very little to the solution.
I’m offering a Viable Economic Solution. Run for your FREEDOM. There will be no Civil War to Free you. No one is coming to help.

And yet Doctors can’t figure this out. 95% of these Administrators could NEVER get into or even finish Medical School.

Imagine paying the hospital CEO in gratitude and giving the nurses the bonus.
The compensation committee would immediately discover the limitations of appreciation.
There would be a serious discussion about market rates, retention, responsibilities, and the risk of losing talented leadership.
All perfectly reasonable subjects.
I’d enjoy hearing the same vocabulary applied with equal enthusiasm to the people working the night shift.
Thanking employees matters. So does staffing the floor adequately, respecting their time, and paying them enough to stay.
If a pizza party is such a compelling retention strategy, try it on the executive search firm…
Doctor’s Day? What a joke.
I remember one time the hospital where I worked was cooking hamburgers and hotdogs outside in celebration of Doctors Day.
I had my typical 3 month wait to see me, a full schedule and an 12 hour day. I’m #2 Doc in the Family Medicine department after being there 10 months.
This pencil neck administrator walks into my office while I’m chained to my desk and asks if I’m going outside. He doesn’t even know that every minute I goof off is a minute later I have to work and a minute later I get home to my family.
So I asked him “You going to block my schedule so I can go outside?”. He said No. I responded “What do you think? Some of us work here.”
I looked out my window. Turnout was low. It’s why he was combing the floors. No Doctors were out there.
Only a Pencil Neck F Tard Administrator would plan an event for Doctors, SPEND “Nonprofit” Taxpayers money on it, and not block time off in our schedule.

Doctors haven't gotten a raise from Medicare since 1992. They've gotten a 55% pay cut. 📉
In 1992 Medicare paid $31.00 per unit of physician work. In 2026 it pays $33.40. If it had just kept up with inflation, it would be about $74.
Same work. Less than half the buying power.
Meanwhile your mortgage, your student loans, and your kids' tuition kept up with inflation just fine.
You can't control what Medicare pays you. You can control what you do with what's left.

We regret to inform you that a patient has discovered our drug discount.
Naturally, she assumed it would lower her bill.
We explained that the discount supports our mission. She asked whether she was part of the mission.
An uncomfortable start to the appointment.
She suggested that if the manufacturer accepts less money for her medicine, perhaps we could accept less money from her.
We assured her that the savings help us serve vulnerable patients.
She mentioned that she was a vulnerable patient. Apparently, she had brought her bank statement.
We explained that we evaluate the benefit at the institutional level. She asked whether she could pay her bill at the institutional level.
At this point, we invited someone from patient experience to join us.
She has a compelling story. With her permission, we’d like to feature it in our next fundraising campaign.
Her bill remains due Friday.
I have a question for the Medicare for All and Single Payer supporters.
In my area, a mobile dog groomer advertises they will wash the dog and cut their hair for $180 in the home.
A physician house call is worth at least a double washing a dog and cutting her hair. I would say, triple.
So is the government going to pay me $500-$600 for a house call on a sick elderly patient?
