Don’t do half measures Bea. NAME the “Nazi sympathising racists”. That’s a strong accusation against women who cannot defend themselves. Name them. Otherwise this is the same smear it has always been on women unnamed and it spreads fear and division.

Well four of us were banned. You, me, Lippy and Lightnin Lex. I think. Because they didn’t ever really say did they? I was banned for posting photos against a privacy policy I was told eventually by email. I’m not sure you three have ever been told? However, security had all 4 of us marked in advance. We were supposed to be “spoken to” in advance of the conference and “told to behave” but the person tasked with this refused. Which is why none of us knew we were “marked” and just turned up to enjoy an expensive conference assuming all was well. One where we were at risk because security intended to penalise/punish us rather than protect us. That was the security detail. Executed to perfection. We walked into an arena of accusers, monitored because of our views, without any knowledge of it.

I don’t know this woman’s politics. She sells books. Some I would buy, some I would hate and not buy. I saw one about Oswald Mosley that I would laugh at because its bias is so ridiculous. Like a fanzine for teenage fascists. Yeah - I’d not buy that. But someone obviously does. I probably wouldn’t get on with them. So what? Joanne didn’t write it. You don’t have to buy it either. It’s a bookshop. Not a political party. What I do admire is an absolute refusal to be cowed by bullies or to “behave” when attacked relentlessly. Sometimes you circle a tiger and throw darts at it, then it decides to claw you in the face a bit. It’s a risk you take. Here’s to the tigers. 🥂🐅
