Huge congratulations to Memory Chirere on winning the NAMA for Outstanding Poetry Book. Shamhu YeZera Renyu is a masterpiece that took over 10 years to create & I hope this win inspires more Zimbabweans to write in their mother tongues. I wish Memory continued success 🎉🧡📚🥂

This afternoon, we had a brilliant staged reading of BLACK SUNLIGHT, my play about the banning of the Dambudzo Marechera novel of the same title.
The cast was just ELECTRIC, and the audience beyond generous.
I am moved and elated.
And so grateful.
BLACK SUNLIGHT is REAL!!

On Friday my lovely friend Esther hosted the first of a new literary salon I've started.
Uchi and I set up Creative Zimbabwe in 2015 to support and promote the arts.
Most of what we did was underground, but our first big event featured Paula Hawkins and Chipo Chung in 2016.
