The season we were relegated from the Conference. It’s funny seeing this table now, because I didn’t remember us being that bad at home.

Can’t explain how excited I would be if this was us. I’m always genuinely baffled when fans of non-league clubs say “glad we are out of the FA cup, it’s just a distraction from the league”
🎥⚽ Things are getting VERY real at Stafford Rangers! Today, the TNT Sports production crew were at the Stan Robinson Stadium, braving the rain to work through all the logistics and preparations for our live FA Cup First Round Proper tie against Grimsby Town. From camera positions and commentary locations to broadcast infrastructure and matchday planning, the build-up is well and truly underway as national television comes to Marston Road. It's another reminder of what a huge occasion this is for everyone connected with the club. Players, staff, volunteers, supporters and sponsors have all played their part in helping us reach this stage, and now the countdown is on. The cameras are coming. The FA Cup is coming. Grimsby Town are coming. And we can't wait. 💚⚽ #StaffordRangersFC #EmiratesFACup #TNTSports

Tuchel is partly correct in that we don’t prioritise keeping hold of the ball. Ask any pro club scout honestly and they will tell you all they look for is 8 year olds who are built like 14 year olds and are fast. They reckon they can teach everything else.

I see so many insanely talented kids who are 9 or 10, brilliant on the ball and natural movement, but because they are small or not lighting quick they won’t ever be considered for trials. Because after all, there’s never been any world class small players has there…

I’m one of those old romantics who still loves the FA Cup! Thoughts @SteveyAsp

Those photos on the hospitality platform make the ground look all out of orientation and it’s making me feel uncomfortable 🤣
Hospitality at @RuncornLinnets was brilliant. The food, Prosecco on tap and beautiful sunshine ☀️ was a fantastic way to spend Saturday 🥂🍾🌽

A few us went for a game of knockout on Halton Lodge School once and Danny Cadamateri was having a kick about with Gazza, Ross Preston & Everton’s kit man on there. Very surreal.
Danny Cadamarteri The derby goal is why he's remembered so fondly. Everton, Bradford, Leeds, the lower leagues. Pace, a finish, a journeyman’s living. A forward who kept finding the net after the hype died. I undersold the goals. The scale still holds: honest career.

335 at Canal Street for a BH Monday Vauxhall Conference match against Merthy Tydfil. Attendances across the Conference were much lower then than they are today. 670 at Alty, they regularly get 2000 now.

Our final ever day as a Vauxhall Conference club. A 0-1 win away at Slough to end 15 years in the competition.

A question. With offside now being A, too complicated to understand and B, largely subjective, why can’t we just completely simply it. If ANYONE is in an offside position, interfering, not interfering, singing, dancing etc, then it’s offside. Simple. No subjectivity required🤷🏻‍♂️

Week 1 of 1992-93 season, and we won 0-1 at Macclesfield Town on Premier Manager on the Amiga 500. A large part of my formative years was lost to this game.

Said it time and time again. Check on people you love and care about, you never know what people are dealing with at any time. Rest in peace mate. Can’t believe it.
💛💚 | RIP WILDY Runcorn Linnets are shocked and saddened to have received news of the death of our former manager Dave Wild. Dave was appointed as our seventh boss in summer 2022 and took charge of 47 games with a record of W27 D7 L13. His last match as boss was in March 2023. Prior to arriving at Linnets. Dave had managed at Mossley and he subsequently had a spell at Ossett United Our sympathy and condolences go to Dave's family and friends at this distressing time.

I’ve never understood why football doesn’t have any sort of KPI’s for managers that, if not achieved, can lead to dismissal with no compensation. How can it be right that someone can repeatedly fail as badly as this and be rewarded with 12 million quid?
There are lottery winners who have put in more effort to get that sort of money

An astonishing statistic for a manager at any level. Nevermind one who seems to keep getting huge jobs.
26.05.2024 The day Russell Martin lead his Southampton side to a Wembley win to gain promotion to the Premier League 🏆 Am I right in thinking he has won just 3 league games as Manager since this date? THREE...? 🤯 #saintsfc #LCFC #RangersFC

I have every confidence that Andy Burnham, being a genuine football lover and from an area full of lower league clubs, will tell this guy to poke it.
⚽️ The 3pm blackout has had its day. It’s time to back fans and football. I’ve written to the Prime Minister. @andyburnham’s been standing up for fans against corporate giants, opposing Infantino’s plan to sell off the World Cup. 🍒 P.S. UTCIAD! I hope we smash Everton today!

Yet another stark warning for all non-league clubs and supporters who get drawn in by the potential fairytale of rich owners. This particular fairytale has lasted less than 18 months, and is ending in all round horrific circumstances. As always, the fans end up suffering most
We are aware a selection of supporters have today received an email from the clubs representatives today regarding their intent to liquidate Maldon & Tiptree FC. We have written to the club and requested information and will provide an update as soon as possible.

We’ve already lost our club once, and look at what has been rebuilt out of its ashes without a single penny from a “rich owner”. It genuinely terrifies me to think that it could all be lost in next to no time if we ever fall into the trap that so many others have.

If this is managed correctly it’s a fantastic and long overdue scheme. It exists and is accepted as the norm in many other countries already.
Today, we're putting the cowboys out of business. Most builders in this country are decent people who take pride in their work and charge a fair price for it. But the small number who don’t follow the same pattern: take a big deposit, do half a job, then disappear with your hard-earned money. That's got to change. So we're backing a new system that gives you the option to have your money held safely and released bit by bit as the work is completed. Do the work, get paid. It's as simple as that. And we'll help our good builders stand out from the cowboys too. Tradespeople who meet our new set of standards will be able to show customers that they do things properly and can be trusted with their homes. This is another one of our everyday fixes to help with the cost of living, and to get people in every part of this country to finally believe in Britain again.
