Given the awesome power AGI would have, only two of these projections makes sense
Every time someone on this app (including me) makes some prediction about AI and the future I think about this chart.

There’s a real chance we will solve aging within the lifetime of most people currently alive

Aubrey de Grey says there’s a 50/50 chance we’ll start beating aging within 12–15 years. George Church thinks we could already be there. I brought four top longevity leaders together for one hour. Here’s what I learned: 1) Nobody agrees on a timeline Aubrey de Grey: 50/50 within 12–15 years. Alex Zhavoronkov: 20–50 years, and he thinks we’ll need brain-computer interfaces to get there. George Church: We could already be on track; we just won’t know for another decade. Michael Ringel: Living forever will “never” happen, but living well past 122 is possible.

I work on aging to extend lifespan Healthspan is nice. But that’s not enough Extending life is a moral good, own it

it's official: the biostasis @xprize is coming winner of this year's visioneering, the prize will target organ biostasis in pig models to end the organ shortage and push the frontier of preservation cryo is finally getting the momentum it deserves

Biostasis is looking increasingly feasible
functional recovery of vitrified and nanowarmed human-scale pig kidneys from up to one year at -150 °C it is increasingly clear that cryopreservation is the single best shot we have at defeating death in our lifetimes biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…

A hundred times yes
The most dangerous myth in medicine is that aging is natural and therefore acceptable

Listening to Jensen Huang at Norrsken, Stockholm 🚀 AI can accelerate interventions to reverse aging. The goal: indefinite lifespan extension 🧬 As models grow more powerful, I see access to quality biological data as the biggest bottleneck

Today we’re soon welcoming @JensenHuang to Stockholm AI will be crucial to solve aging

Cool idea
Spiky LEV /noun/ The hypothesis that longevity escape velocity is already emerging in narrow subpopulations, under specific interventions, over limited time windows, long before it appears in population-wide averages. Just as Spiky AGI describes AI surpassing human capabilities in some domains while lagging in others, Spiky LEV describes longevity breakthroughs appearing unevenly across people, biological systems, treatments, and time.

Interviews in local language (translated with AI to English) of cat parents - European elderly cats with sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss), improving on our therapeutic. I thought I should keep this for strategics and investors, but the same reactions I see in their pharma teams is what the world at large should experience too. We're working on improving health, on going beyond just nine lives ❤️

Aesthetically good and radiation protection - I like it!
What might a city on Mars look like from the outside? I've got a few ideas. Critiques and suggestions welcome!

Very true. They are more like guidelines really We need a better understanding
A reminder that the hallmarks of aging are hypotheses, not proven facts. They describe processes associated with aging, but for most of them we have very limited causal evidence. We still don't understand the molecular and cellular drivers of human aging. 1/2

Now that we know aging interventions can be developed, it makes sense to view aging itself as a root cause of disease It has of course always been…
If they added ‘ageing’ proper to this, rather than somehow separating out the ‘unhealthy’ part, it would dwarf all the other bars…

People fear AI too much. Actually, people fear everything too much. Things that have <0.01% chance of killing them. What they should fear the most is aging - it kills 100% of the time. If you accept aging, you should accept AI, robotics and hardcore biotech.
