God bless the preachers who don’t play today. Who choose to have God alone to please. Who will not watch their words to keep watchdogs from devouring them but will lend their tongues freely to the holy fire that fell from heaven, sent from the One who is called the Word of God.

Here’s the beautiful thing about it & I mean this with absolute respect. You don’t have to let me serve you. That gets to be your choice. Whether or not I serve Jesus is not up to you. Whether I serve you certainly is. One way or the other, I esteem you as my sibling in Christ.

We still need face to face, legit, warm flesh and blood friendships. We still need someone to hold our hand when we’re broken-hearted, to laugh with us til we cry or cry with us til we laugh. We need people with whom we’re safe. A screen can’t do that for us. Friends > Phones.

You just keep doing the thing, Servant. Day in, day out, the spiritual disciplines, undeterred by circumstance. Just you & God. Scripture reading, substantive prayer, worship, confession, petition, intervals of fasting. While the world gets high on seenness, you go low in secret.

Currently in that mode of vacation where I’m not sure what day it is but also I use “It’s vacation!” as an actual excuse/reason for any and everything.
