Innovation should make everyday life easier. Through the Partnership for NYC’s Transit Tech Lab, solar-powered digital bus stop signs showing real-time arrivals are now being tested with NJ Transit in Hudson County. As someone from NJ, it’s great to help + see innovation land where it matters: the daily commute. masstransitmag.com/technolog…

As mayor, I saw firsthand how smart microtransit expands access and supports housing growth. If we’re serious about abundance in cities, transportation flexibility has to be part of the equation. Proud to lead here + join some great former mayors. finance.yahoo.com/news/via-e…

Local [Republican] officials expressed disappointment with the level of engagement from Rep. Tom Kean Jr. “Despite repeated outreach, our federal representative did not engage to the level we had hoped to provide the advocacy our residents deserved.” tapinto.net/towns/roxbury/se…

Responding to criticism from Roxbury leaders over a planned immigrant detention facility in their town, Rep. Kean says he “engaged directly with the highest levels of DHS on their behalf” – but, notably, does not say he opposes the facility itself.
We worked closely with officials in Roxbury and engaged directly with the highest levels of DHS on their behalf. I understand the frustration and emotion this situation has created. The residents of Roxbury can be assured that I will not stop fighting for a workable solution. The overwhelming majority of residents, along with the state and the country, support getting criminal illegal migrants off our streets and stopping the flow of Fentanyl. We need to, and will, keep a level head as we continue to work constructively to deliver results.

BDS isn’t some college campus anomaly. It’s given space and oxygen to growing antisemitism for a generation. Always grateful for @StevenFulop’s leadership in working to build a climate that allows for differences of opinions but does not tolerate discrimination and violence.
Jersey City + BDS. Antisemitism isn’t abstract. It’s real, it’s rising in NY and NJ, and it demands leadership - not silence or equivocation. I’ve dealt with this directly as Mayor of Jersey City, and I’ll be just as vocal as I step into my role as CEO of the Partnership for NYC later this month.

12 years. One incredible journey. This video captures Mayor Fulop's accomplishments in his time leading the best city in America. From transforming neighborhoods to creating opportunities: Jersey City didn't just dream of a better city. We built it. Together. @stevenfulop

🧵 : Why New Jersey keeps earning the “Soprano State” label and why it won’t stop unless something breaks. Every elected official in NJ knows this is wrong. Whether it’s rolling back public records, loosening donation rules to invite more dark money, or gutting oversight (like what we’re seeing now)… the pattern is the same. So why does it keep happening?
Just in: NJ “transparency” at its worst. Sen. Scutari sneaks in a bill before Thanksgiving to kill OSC investigations. A vote for this bill is a vote for corruption. njleg.state.nj.us/bill-searc…

That @StevenFulop conversation I promised: See it TONIGHT 6pm. Who was the first call he got on election night? Thoughts on @MikieSherrill and @Jack4NJ. Rating his job as mayor (affordability, crime) Will he endorse a successor? Plus there's a LIVE chat. youtube.com/watch?v=RxQ8MbC-…

Public safety has been at the core of our progress + it’s not always recognized for how we changed this. Last year Record-low homicides: 6 homicides in 2024 which is staggering for a densely populated city like JC + lowest honored rate of any of the top 100 largest cities in the country east of Texas. This was also the lowest on record in JC history and 75% below 2014 (24). Shootings also fell 45% year-over-year in 2024.

Reading more and more about this agreement in Israel. The hostage release and cease fire negotiated by @realDonaldTrump is a monumental accomplishment and democrats should acknowledge it without caveats. There should be no “But…” or “and…” - this step was elusive for 2 years and he deserves credit. If we can’t acknowledge that then we are blinded by partisan politics and have entirely lost perspective. Let’s hope that step 2 continues progress towards long term peace in the Middle East

Jersey City is one of the few American cities to have embraced "missing massive" housing — super high-density towers right on top of transit. And it has done so with inclusionary zoning and rent control. But there have also been growing pains... vitalcitynyc.org/articles/le…

This doesn’t even show Journal Square, which is set to be the dense, cultural heart of the city thanks to the upzoning and investment in the arts.
Jersey City’s development is impressive. It’s one of the few parts of the NYC metro that’s truly growing. Its population has increased by 15.3% since 2020, and once the skyscrapers currently under construction are completed, it will have more skyscrapers than SF and Boston.

We had a vision and continue to move forward with transformative projects for Jersey City. 701 Newark Ave, was just approved by the EDA - it is a 360-unit tower in JSQ that will provide 72 income-restricted units at very low and low incomes (the first in JC under the Aspire program). It will be part of Homestead Place which will be pedestrian only walkway in Journal Square with retail on both sides - it is far enough along now you can see it if you walk by the site

Love him or hate him - there’s one promise Fulop made to Jersey City which was that he would not embarrass us. 12 years scandal free in the infamous Hudson County. Good luck on whatever comes next and thank you for your service.
Today’s the deadline to file for Mayor/Council in Jersey City and I won’t be filing. It’s a weird feeling. When I ran for Governor, I said I wouldn’t treat the mayor’s seat or an elected office as a fallback, and I meant it. I think it reflects poorly when people do that + wouldn’t do that to JC. The next chapter of leadership for Jersey City clearly starts today + I’m excited to see what vision the candidates will bring

New Today: Edison gave NJ the light bulb. 150 years later, NJ gave itself the bill. Skyrocketing electricity costs have turned power into the face of the 2025 affordability crisis—maybe even the sleeper issue of the governor’s race. Available today. Link in bio.

Who cares? States are gerrymandering districts, cities just received sanctuary city letters from Pam Bondi, and NJ’s Gov race is stuck on nonsense. Both Christie & Murphy root for out-of-state teams and Everyone’s eaten Domino’s. So what?? Let’s hope real issues: transit, redistricting, housing, AI, work from home policy, energy costs… maybe a vision for NJ. Let’s see some policy boldness
