I'm guessing its more like 40%. Spending has increased by $3 trillion since 2000. $2 trillion since 2020. There's no reason the federal government cannot effectively operate on $4-$5 trillion. The rest is most likely fraud.

Itβs a tough pill to swallow, but the math doesn't lie. Spending $10 billion just to reopen the production line before a single jet is built is a non-starter. As much as we love the Raptor, that money is better spent ensuring NGAD (Next Generation Air Dominance) doesn't run into these same capacity issues.
What we have here is massive failure in long-term strategic planning. Capping the F-22 fleet at 195 was a mistake in 2011, and now weβre paying for it. By the time we could realistically restart the line, the 'gold standard' avionics would already be outdated compared to modern threats.
