The end of the @Phillies and @Dodgers game yesterday was hard to watch obviously because of how it ended. I woke up this morning still devastated for Orion Kerkering. But I’ll tell you what I did see: In a moment of total disbelief and heartbreak that their season ended so abruptly, catcher JT Realmuto consoling Orion. Nick Castellanos running in from right field to put his arms around Orion. Manager Rob Thomson waiting at the top step for his pitcher to hug him and remind him that he was loved. Sometimes we think so much about outcomes and performances that we forget that these are just people. With real emotions. And in that moment Orion had his team loving all over him because when you play with somebody for 162, plus spring training, plus playoffs… you become family.
Were they sad they lost? Of course. But their heartbreak for Orion and support for him was clear and great to witness. In a moment of defeat and total shock , the Phillies showed true class and support for their young player who made a mistake.
Well done Phillies.
And congrats Dodgers.

We feel like more people need to know about this. Who can help spread the word?

I bet you think that you can't get a university scholarship in baseball in the UK? Well, that isn't true and you can find out more about what might be available at @Uni_Lancashire here - tinyurl.com/ymj7pzs4

Today, @uk_sport has announced funding awards for the Great Britain Baseball National Team as part of the overall funding settlement for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. In addition to the GB Women’s Fastpitch team, both GB programs will receive a combined £1 million over the next four years.
BBF President, Richard Evans, expressed the following regarding the announcement: “This very generous support from UK Sport and Sport England will allow us to build on the on-field success of the past few years and give us the best possible chance to qualify for the LA Olympics in 2028. It is also a reflection of the commitment and hard work put in by the Performance Management Team and all the coaches, players and support staff within GB Baseball.”

Good to see @LiverpoolTrojan at the weekend. Some shots from the day 📸
Halton Trojans have fought and scrapped their way through every game of the season. Eventually finishing with an 0-24 record.
We asked our GM @Bleasedog what for his thoughts on Halton's efforts this year. – at Preston, England
"gained this year to play better next year. I was getting asked about when winter training would start up again while they were still in their uniforms after the game. It's great to see such enthusiasm! Only a couple from that team had played before, and none of them pitched." – at Preston, England
"They were up against it from the start. No doubt there will be discussions about everything this off-season. Which division for 2025? The makeup of the team, even where we will end up playing isn't certain right now. These lads are up for the challenge though, I'm sure of it." – at Preston, England
The Bootle Trojans will enter the last weekend of the season knowing that anything less than a sweep of @BladerunnersBC could see them eliminated from the playoffs.
Their closest rivals @hullscorpions have finished their season and have one more win. Tense.
The box score from Sunday's AAA game. Long Eaton Storm were new to the Northern League this year after a successful spell in the WMBL. Every game we've had with them this year has been really competitive - lead changes aplenty and lots of strategic moves being made. – at Preston, England
