theres also a ‘SRL discussion group’ (which doesn’t allow discussion) but I have been banned from that group. @saveheatherton

Elites like yourself.
Talk about hypocrisy

Just a pisstake on the anti SRL trope “it doesnt have a business case” 🙄
Do you know what the cool 😎 people do on a Friday night 👇
They read the SRL business and investment case

Car-first metro growth scales unbelievably smoothly up to ~5M people, but as the 60-90min commute zone bogs down, you end up wishing you'd chosen more balanced growth + road pricing
Most US cities aren't on track to grow that big, but the ~dozen that do are super important
Purely auto based commuting networks do seem to allow for larger commute sheds and scale up to about 5 mil workers; remote work and AVs probably allow you to push that up further

NIMBYs join forces to fight 34 social homes for homeless women and children in Maryborough.
How exactly would giving them veto power improve the lives of Victorians?

A close-up of the circular piles that line your new station in Glen Waverley. There are 268 of them.
Each concrete column extends deep into the ground, providing essential ground support and eventually acting as the walls of the completed station.
I understand and welcome criticism of the SRL but the counter arguments are usually so insipid and usually just a shallow opinion. His is the problem with transport discourse in this country

By all means keep canceling projects and building busways.
New data has revealed Brisbane motorists are crawling along major highways at just 28km/h in a daily peak hour nightmare 🚗🚙🚗

Ok I need to do some thorough research on these towns or some Gronk will correct me.
Yanac leads to Netherby. (I’m 99% sure)
Ok a Liberal proposal 👇
since SRL isn’t viable I think an hourly service from Yanac to Netherby is viable just in case the payphone is out of order

This was the rail network pre war. Service was probably sparse back then even if the network looked comprehensive and very few people had cars. And the Liberals want to bring a train not back not to Melbourne but to Ararat. And then argue SRL isn’t feasible 🤪

A good explanation of how the proposed toll caps in Victoria would work (Transurban and ConnectEast make the same money they already do, with the state government making up the difference) transportist.net/p/who-pays-…
Should Mildura be prioritised over the SRL, Melbourne and the regions closer to Melbourne. You know more about Ouyen than I do.
SRL catchment 1.4m people
Regions : 330K
Mildura: 73K
Still trying to work out how Monash the largest uni in the southern hemisphere is a train to nowhere yet Beulah on the way to Mildura is a train to somewhere. Anyone want to do a feasibility study here isn’t this better for freight (the reason for gauge conversion 🥸)

A piece of mine on the Australian Greens policy of opposing military assistance to Ukraine, and what parties that advocate "peace and nonviolence" get wrong about countries like Russia. @AmbVasyl
thediplomat.com/2026/10/what…
My issue with a train to Mildura on its own is the break of gauge as well the fact that there are so many other regional areas that are closer to Melbourne and need upgrades or reinstatement of service. It can be done but in a phased approach.
So the Liberal gronka are trying to argue that Box Hill is a train to nowhere but Mildura is a train to somewhere (and yes I believe a train should go to Mildura following other steps)
