MULTI-REGIONALISM THREAD
I will start with basic explanation of my views on the origins of modern humans, I will come back and branch out with more evidence and detail later.
writing it all out in short tweets with no plan will be a challenge, give me time!
"(reinforcing OOA)" what a Muppet lmao

Even someone firmly opposed to OOA like me didn't call Xujiayao a modern human, clearly denisovan grade.
Hey guys I'm at work this week so won't have time, but when I do, would you be interested in a thread about trying to make Reich's recent proposal work with dental evidence?
I'm always up for a thought experiment and looking at things in good faith.

This study challenges the result of the first study on Erectus proteins and they find that the Denisovan AMBN gene have no signal of a super-archaic origin. So Erectus as the super archaic contributor is not certain anymore. .biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…
Someone asked why I did include the dates on this, neutral theory and coalescence was used in the study so it was probably wrong dates anyway. For example the neandersovan line is at least as old as yunxian, so at least 1.1mya, well older than the study date

In red is the Asian erectus line, with the red arrow into the green representing the superarchic contribution to denisovans. The yellow is where the neandersovans break off, they are the derived lineage relative to erectus, which eventually gives rise to blue and green
Here's the image from the Reich paper, I thought I would focus on the Eurasian side of this, obviously it is over simplified for the sake of clarity, so I have made my own.
What does the middle east have? Ergaster like kocabas? What is zuttiyeh? Other fossils like misliya are too late. I am also not sure they would dentally match a group that branches off from that neandersovan area
