A sacred hill is not an ordinary piece of land that can be stripped of its history and identity.
Lingamalai, in Pudukkottai, carries the legacy of Chola-era Shaivite heritage, with an ancient Shiva temple, inscriptions, sculptures and a Nandi.
The concerns are clear: alleged encroachment on temple land and attempts to alter the hill’s historical identity.
How can Chola-era heritage be claimed or appropriated by Christian missionaries?
Hindu heritage cannot be treated as negotiable.

എന്റെ നാട്ടിൽ എരുമേലിയിൽ കുറച്ച് വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുൻപ് സ്കൂളിൽ ടീച്ചർമാരുടെ പ്രൈവറ്റ് പാർട്ടിക്ക് പോർക്ക് വെച്ചതിനു കുറച്ച് അൽ സമാധാനികൾ വന്ന് സ്കൂളും തല്ലിപ്പൊളിച്ചു സാറന്മാരെയും തല്ലി, ജീവനക്കാരെയും തല്ലി റോഡും ഉപരോധിച്ചായിരുന്നു കേട്ടോ. അത് ഇസ്ലാം ആയിരിക്കില്ല ഇച്ചീച്ചിലാം ആയിരിക്കും അല്ലിയോ? ഇജ്ജ് പറഞ്ഞത് ശെരിയാ അന്ന് മുസ്ലിംസിനു കൊണ്ടില്ല കൊണ്ടത് മുയുമനും ക്രിസ്ത്യാനി ടീച്ചർമാർക്ക് ആണ്.
