Maybe these strategies should include telling the ground maintenance team?
Yellow loosestrife bee Macropis europea today on Wanstead park. London nature recovery strategy priority species has had its habitat destroyed on this site. It’s only food plant cut down around the dam. @CoLEnvironment @CityCommons @cityoflondon must do better to protect this bee

Fact: UK climate is predominantly influenced by what comes across the Atlantic. This video shows a man choosing his words carefully — and well. Could his words be a weather warning to those of us on this side of the Atlantic?
Our democracy is not self-executing. It depends on us all as citizens, regardless of our political affiliations, to stand up and fight for the core values that have made this country the envy of the world.

But avoid cutting them now if they have Devil’s bit Scabious which is as good an autumn forage source as Ivy. flickr.com/photos/63075200@N…

bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c776… It seems this research started 15 years ago. The politics of honey bees vs ecology has changed over that period & these indubitable academic achievements emerge into a complex context that requires thoughtful well-informed reporting not #beewash

Confusing! Arrived here in SW France to find a "fall" of green leaves all over the ground. The culprit it turns out was a storm a couple of days ago with hail the size of goofballs – literally

I found this daddy on the bathroom floor and realised I hadn’t seen one for a very long time. Are craneflies just not commonly part of the urban wildlife scene or are they in decline?⁦@Buzz_dont_tweet⁩

One of those in-a-flash moments yesterday, cycling on the #TamsinTrail through strongly dappled sunlit woods in #RichmondPark, I saw a large bid coming towards me. It banked away as we passed no more than 10 metres apart. A red kite. I didn’t know they had returned to #London.

Despite being among the most extensively studied bees worldwide, we are only at the dawn of understanding the intricate universe of bumblebees. Excellent overview of bumblebees from @LChittka et al in Current Biology cell.com/current-biology/ful…
