Manuscript alert! I’m excited to finally share our manuscript on PINCHs, now on bioRxiv:

These findings introduce a new paradigm in targeted protein degradation, with broad implications for chemical biology and therapeutic development. I’d welcome feedback from the community on this emerging modality.
Combining covalent chemistry with proximity inducers expands their scope, and drives new discoveries. I tried to capture the state of the field in this (open access) comprehensive review. Good news - there are plenty of opportunities up for grabs :) pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…

Check out the Kupcinet-Getz International Summer Program @WeizmannScience bit.ly/3VxJCXI a great opportunity to visit and get a taste of science.
For the #covalent enthusiasts, check out the BPS "Emergence of irreversible modulation in drug discovery" meeting. Looks like a high local concentration of electrophiles :) my.bps.ac.uk/events/details/…
Such an elegant idea from the Gray lab! Target two nucleophiles simultaneously to reduce the probability of resistance mutation formation. Dielectrophiles were previously reported, but to my knowledge not in the context of avoiding resistance. Very cool.

Replying to @XChem_DLS
More structures were solved using data collected at @DiamondLightSource in 2023 than any other synchrotron, with ~1500 entries. This was closely followed by APS (@advancedphoton) with ~1400 entries, then SSRF (Shanghai), SLS (@psich_en) and ESRF (@esrfsynchrotron). 5/10

The incredible @asap_discovery team members working with @XChem_DLS collected 14,631 X-ray datasets and deposited 6.7% of all X-ray structures in the PDB for ASAP in 2023 to advance structure-based antiviral discovery--with hundreds more pending release. 🚀

ALT Slide summarizing statistics from the ASAP Structural Biology Core: Collected 14,631 datasets as of 4th December 2023. Rolling average consistently >1,000 samples/month for Q4 2023 Originally predicted ~500 samples/month 601 structures deposited in PDB by ASAP in 2023 (6.7% all X-ray structures) 924 for all of Diamond, 776 for all American synchrotrons >200 pending release
