Now here's a fun one, and they turned out pretty great. These 'stone' earthen walls I'm happy we got away with. The campaign team seems to have had fun with them too and the Hedeby campaign map looks absolutely cozy. The palisades down the scarp of the wall towers should connect at every orientation

pretty fun to make little worlds at 3 am with a couple brush strokes and a horrendously broken sleep schedule

Heres the Tupi wonder and castle alt. concepts. Iguazu falls might not be a man made wonder, but we could have gotten a giant thatched oca instead of a cool animated wonder for the Tupi

concepts for the new wooden fort introduced in the last chieftains. something not too specific that could be used anywhere from the migration period up to the colonial era. I even got to get this one started in 3D funnily enough someone writing the wiki noticed the inspiration I pulled from cossacks/american conquest. I do love the work put into those old sprites, with construction and destruction levels and everything

not too much to say here, but a rare visit to the dark age is always a nice surprise. These concepts were relatively painless; and i certainly didnt think the settlement would have as much of an impact on gameplay as they did end up having. The only thing I didnt particularly like about the settlement was the building palette reduction it ended up causing

Here's the jomsviking from the main menu, and why not get a look at his concept too design originally had me give him dual axes instead of the spear and shield he has now, interestingly enough. I wonder how that would have played out statwise

How's Erin for a name? I think a funny welsh Y in there would be just fine too

Rounding out the list will be the Varangian jarl they seem to be very strong; but i think its a little hard to pry players away from their gothikon varangian guards. I play these guys with mounted crossbows for that early castle age mobility and punch

Hearth troops with angons and a seax. I'm suprised they cost wood instead of food, that alone makes them pretty unique among heavy infantry unique units. I think its fairly apparent the Sutton Hoo hoard's helmet and shield were the primary inspiration for these guys' equipment
