In 1983, the @LabourParty led by Michael Foot suffered a crushing defeat in the general election with 28% of the vote. Today @ElectCalculus suggests that Labour is on 28% of the vote and set to win a majority of 56 seats! Can @andyburnham really go the country on a system allowing a party with 28% of the vote to win a majority?
Our latest MRP poll with @PLMRLtd predicts that if there were a general election now, #Labour would win 353 seats, a majority of 56.
#Conservatives would be the official opposition on 90 seats and #Reform would be third on 81 seats.

As Musk is acting with Trump to aid an enemy of Europe with an illegal invasion of a sovereign state, we and the EU must act together to hit Musk by restricting whatever profitable activities we can.

And what would Boris Johnson define as βsuccessful interferenceβ, why werenβt the issues properly investigated, and how can we trace the original sources of funding for the Brexit campaign?

Disgraceful @carolecadwalla I have no confidence in @ObserverUK which is a great shame given its great tradition over centuries. It needs to apologise to you and recognise your work. The Russian interference must be fully exposed.

And for example the murder of the Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics in 1972 should not justify a scintilla of sympathy let alone a presence seen as support for the murderers. No death penalty. No terrorism by anyone.

This comment from John Curtice does not allow for the fact that party leaders normally have a big boost in their own constituency vote if they run successful national campaigns. Allow for this, and for it being βmid-termβ, and Labourβs success is good news for @andyburnham
Civilised nations do not execute people. What is happening in USA now is what we have sadly come to expect from countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran, not in a democratic country.

Betting markets at midnight show very comfortable win for Labour over @ZackPolanski in #Holborn. Not surprised.

Pleased to speak at the 115th celebration of Taiwanβs National Day at the National Liberal Club last night. As ever, a great occasion! I spoke of the significance of being in a Club opened by William Ewart Gladstone and who sought to uphold strong moral values in foreign policy. Taiwanβs cause is the cause of all liberal democracies. #Taiwan
