The Ghana AIDS Commission has warned that Ghana is regressing in its fight against HIV and AIDS after recording 13,951 new infections in 2025, with women accounting for 63.8 per cent of the cases.
According to official data, the Greater Accra recorded the highest number of new infections, with 3,141 cases, while more than 330,000 people were living with HIV nationwide by the end of 2025.
The Commission has attributed the rising infections partly to risky sexual behaviour, including unprotected sex and multiple sexual partners among the youth.
