what does Ofsted mean when it says that children in the early years can 'sit like a scholar'? what is sitting like a scholar? where can i learn how to sit like a scholar? which 3 year old can teach me how to sit like a scholar?

Today marks an unhappy birthday – the 7th anniversary of the two-child limit to benefit payments. As part of the @endchildpoverty Coalition we have a message for @DWPgovuk – one they can’t ignore – it’s time to scrap the unfair sibling tax. #AllKidsCount

Two children for us and three for them.... disgusting
I hadn't realised that most MPs can claim £5500 per child on expenses, for up to three children. But it certainly puts the two-child benefit cap in perspective.

Really inspiring to chat to Mijeong Kim yesterday about our projects as part of this brilliant series of events. Follow @UoW_GradSchool to get details of the next one.

Brilliant talk by @LoretteGreen at the @uowsss Social Sciences Festival, exploring the ways in which parenting interventions aimed at working class mothers reflect a huge lack of insight into the lived experiences of those they purportedly seek to help

While we take stock of big, new losses in Dartmoor, I want to take a moment to talk about the micro enclosures happening every day around the country. They’ll never make the headlines. But they completely shape the way we live our lives. This is mine. 🧵

Absolute respect to all the transport staff today. Given the snow and disruption it's caused they've been top notch.

Thank you for unpacking this so clearly. Can you imagine if anyone could sign up and attend a module free at source? How much richer our lives would be (and your rooms would be packed). Caveat would also require UBI/4 day week...

😬 *cancels babysitter
Sorry to anyone with tickets to the show in Chatham this week. It’s been cancelled by the council as we’re in a period of mourning. Clearly the best way to mark the passing of a monarch who ‘was dedicated to duty and always carried on regardless’ is to cancel everything.
