my biggest flex is that this was my first month on YouTube with @TellaHQ
wanna know how I did this?
I went to the most expensive boarding school in the world.
And here's what I'd say to "should you send you child to an expensive private school?"
Cons
1/ the network isn't as valuable as you'd think, uni network = more useful
2/ real risk of becoming out of touch
Pros
1/ will be exposed to max. new cultures (🚨 albeit all of same social background)
2/ they will learn manners/etiquette/discipline
3/ access to 1-on-1 attention + smaller classes = better outcomes (e.g. university acceptance, grades)
the real reason Instagram launched "Features"
In case you're also confused about Instagram's new "Features":
TL;DR: it's basically clipping
1/ @a16z reported we've hit the max amount of media we can consume: max 26 hrs/week in the US (+ it isn't growing)
2/ so, if the total watched can't grow, every app has to steal time from other platforms
3/ Instagram's idea: be where you watch short AND long videos, like YouTube.
4/ how do you get people to watch the long stuff? let creators turn a "Feature", a video up to 90min long into max. 8 "Reels" (short clips that link back to it)
5/ also explains why video editing platforms let you edit everything (from podcasts to clips)

Instagram launches long-form video called "Features"
Creators can link up to 8 clips that show up in the feed and drive to the full video per @mosseri
a list of things I hate
(oh, you can now draw things on your iPad + use in your screen recordings @TellaHQ)
inspired by @hectorserrranoo's vid
Last week, I went into a designer interior store bc I needed to borrow a phone charger.
I felt so guilty for asking that I ended up buying 4 new chairs.
And that's on reciprocity 😅
Don’t conclude that you
- suck at video content
- aren’t creative
- can’t grow a new channel
before you’ve posted at least 100 videos
This is a very calming thought :)
A motion designer friend of mine told me she’s fine with me using ai to make “the stuff motion designers don’t wanna make anyways”
And that’s the only pro-ai argument I’ll ever need
playing around with motion graphics in @TellaHQ
