2028 RHP was excellent @texas_scouts Games. Tall, slender, moves well with projection ahead. Breaking ball has been a real weapon. One of top RHPs in Texas.

Wowed during the #FiveToolFestival in Feb. and continued to shine this summer and fall. Tall 2028 RHP flashes sweeping breaking ball and very promising CH with upper-80s easy velo already. Lovejoy reloads.

Big, strong RHP and RHH C who has routinely showed a lot of interesting two-way talent over the years, but som real upside has emerged on mound. FB up to 94 MPH and high-spin, top-to-bottom CB are two already strong offerings.

#8 – Lovejoy Breaks Through to Capture Its First State Championship
Sometimes the hardest championship to win is the first one.
Just ask Lovejoy.
For the past two seasons, the Leopards found themselves among the state's elite, but each journey ended in heartbreak. In 2024, Lovejoy scored two runs in the top of the 7th to tie Grapevine in the state championship game before Grapevine delivered a dramatic walk-off victory to capture the Class 5A title game. One year later, the same Grapevine program ended Lovejoy's season again, this time in the state semifinals on its way to a second consecutive state championship.
Two years.
Two crushing defeats.
One common obstacle.
Grapevine.
Rather than allowing those disappointments to define the program, Lovejoy used them as motivation.
The Leopards returned in 2026 with another experienced and determined club, proving once again they belonged among Texas' best. This time, however, the ending would be different.
With Grapevine unexpectedly removed from the postseason before the playoffs began, the path to Dell Diamond looked different, but the challenge remained enormous. Lovejoy still had to earn every victory, navigating one of the state's deepest playoff brackets before defeating Georgetown 7-3 in the UIL Class 5A Division II State Championship game to claim the first baseball state championship in school history. The long-awaited celebration was finally theirs.
For the seniors, the championship represented far more than a trophy.
It was redemption.
The memories of the walk-off loss in 2024 and the semifinal disappointment in 2025 had fueled the program's determination throughout the offseason. Instead of becoming another talented team remembered for coming close, the 2026 Leopards rewrote the program's history.
The victory also established Lovejoy among the state's premier baseball programs. Three consecutive trips to the state tournament and a state championship reflected a level of consistency few schools can match, while the perseverance shown over those three seasons made the title even more meaningful.
