Here's a video I made that explains the cognitive shuffle in detail, and how it is deemed to work: youtube.com/watch?v=Eh9x8MqS…

It makes little sense to pit OpenAI’s massive budget, elite engineers, CS researchers, world-class mathematicians, and SOTA AI computing power... ...against a single Ph.D. mathematician with a pencil and a Mac. 🤷‍♂️😀 There's always new technology. Industries and academia will adapt to these changing conditions, just like it did in the past. If anything, AI seems to have spawned a new exciting era in mathematics - similar in massive scope to the desktop publishing revolution in the 1990s. Also, if mathematicians of today can't even understand each other's work, then maybe that's a sign that mathematical creativity and effort could be better exploring off new directions rather than digging ever deeper in the caves of abstraction. When was the last time we witnessed a Shannon moment in mathematics? AI might be the technology which liberates mathematics from the chains of deep laborious abstraction-digging.

If The Future of Text is still accepting submissions, I would like to offer a chapter on the "Delving Deeply" principle of my Cognitive Productivity books cogzest.com/books/ with an emphasis on qualitative annotations/tag & hooked meta-docs @liquidizer

This relates to "How should text be structured and annotated so that augmented thought remains open, portable, and under the thinker’s control?"

Actually I would extend this with information on annotation and metadocs of stories (books, films, short stories, etc.) which is discussed in my [_Discontinuities: Love, Art, Mind_](leanpub.com/discontinuities/).

“ Structure arrives when you've earned it. That's the whole idea. We call this information gardening, and it is the least fashionable feature in software: a tool that lets you stay confused a little longer, on purpose, because you're not done looking.”
