My longstanding passion for cycling. 🥰
A little throwback to my early days, racing bikes on 24" wheels, owning an authentic Nike Polka Dot jersey signed by Mr. Virenque and obviously fanboying Rabobank. 🚴♂️
Bikes is happiness.
Three weeks ago the Worlds finished here. 🌈 Today you’d barely know the World Championships ever happened here
Fella in front is now a WorldTour stage winner, while the fella behind rage baits people on Twitter. Life comes at you fast
In 2021 I wrote this thread because there were genuinely signs that the photo finish wasn’t set up correctly
In Ciccone’s case, there’s nothing concrete to go on. But the truth is in practice the photofinish can be set up anywhere on that 32cm white strip, even diagonal
The photo finish of #AGR21 was pointing at a spot on the barriers roughly ~25 centimeters before the actual finish.
This is we and @lynchyeatspizza think after analysing photos of the finish.
How did we get to this? ⬇️
I’d like to thank Remco Evenepoel for keeping the European Championships jersey in the peloton in 2027. 💁♂️
Next year’s World Championships has some curious scheduling
The road races are split across two weekends, with the Men Elite race on the first Sunday (29 Aug) and the Women Elite race on the final Sunday (5 Sep).
But that final weekend also coincides with the start of La Vuelta
Worlds is basically UCI’s main commercial product. Unlike the Tour, Giro, Vuelta or Classics, it controls the full rights
So if you wonder why we get so few sprints at Worlds: a race like today is simply a far more valuable product commercially than a sprint
Rumour is Americans racing in Canada will be taxed an additional two minutes on the final results sheet
Matthieu attacking and dropping Wout means Remco will be brought into the game. The group cooperation was good..

Brilliant chess game. Absolutely magnificent. Certainly different from yesterday, but not worse #Montréal2026
