Does anyone know of a podcast studio in New York? That films records and edits and also sends the raw files that we can rent for a day?
Iām looking to connect with mid- senior social media marketers in New York City and will be there during 1-6th November for our first event! Keen to chat about the career ladder, campaigns and just talk all things social media
Coming to NYC next month to host our first ever SocialDay events in the US for brand and agency social media leaders.
While Iām out there, I want to meet interesting people I can learn from too.
Media people. Investors. Operators. Founders. People building ambitious things.
If thatās you, or thereās someone you think I should meet while Iām in New York, tell me.
Building something in a new city is such a strange mix of exciting and terrifying š
SocialDay has been bringing the social media industry together in the UK for years. Now weāre doing it in New York.
New city, audience, relationships. No taking for granted that anyone knows who we are.
So Iāve been personally reaching out to brilliant social media people across NYC, introducing myself, telling them what weāre building and inviting them into the room.
And people are saying yes š„¹
On 4 November, weāll open the doors to SocialDayās first Social Media Marketing Forum in NYC.
Building a brand in a new market from scratch is HARD. But watching the room slowly come together is pretty bloody exciting.
NYC, weāre coming šŗšø

I was interviewed on Times Radio this morning as a social media expert talking about the IPPR report claiming social media has become āanti-social.ā
I disagree.
Social media isnāt less social. Itās just social in different places now.
The feed has moved from people you know to content youāre interested in. Thatās not a tragedy is it? Itās just the algorithm doing exactly what itās designed to do⦠honestly?
I prefer it. Youāre not scrolling past your mateās lunch anymore. Youāre seeing content you actually want to watch.
The real social stuff? It moved. Group chats, DMs, private communities. We canāt measure it, thatās dark social but itās happening more than ever.
Also, everyday users just post less than they used to. So of course thereās less friend content in the feed. Less goes in, less comes out.
My bigger point? Maybe we all just need to get outside and touch some grass. Weāre spending a lot of time watching what strangers are doing online and calling it connection.
The BBC want to build a public service social platform. š¤£
Interesting idea. But people go where the content is good. Thatās a very hard problem to solve. Also who wants a state policed social network? Thatās worse than any algorithm eh?
Social media hasnāt become anti-social. Itās become interest-based!!
And real socialising? Itās just somewhere you canāt see it.
Thoughts?

Ps: This is me, I took the assignment from a mini break gorgeous Italy! š®š¹ and now on way home.
The ones who are best at using gen AI for content are the ones you wouldnāt know are using it. Because they arenāt using to generate ideas or to write the full content, but they are using it to speed things up and increase quality output.
AI cannot replace taste, distinctiveness and your story.
Is there a nice marketing and business part of X that I donāt know about? I donāt want to see any political stuff.
Just all rainbows and butterflies and marketing / business people sharing the process

AI search is changing who gets found. Platforms that publish consistent, specific, industry content are getting cited in AI answers. Generic brand accounts are invisible. This is the new SEO and many marketers havenāt clocked it yet.
Sponsors arenāt asking āhow many attendees.ā Theyāre asking āwhoās in the room.ā The brief has completely changed.
