People act like these factors don’t intersect: getting an Oboard leads to second chance possessions which have much higher PPP (boosting oTS). Not turning it over means you don’t give the opposing team that transition efficiency boost thus (theoretically) lowering their oTS / boosting your own dTS. Etc. etc. Everything in basketball intersects, saying one part doesn’t matter is a nothing burger take.
The new “possession maxxing is a farce, OTS is king” stance is basically the parallel of “EPA/play says throwing is more efficient, so sling it”

Why I think 2010 (pre elbow injury and “decision”) was the very best version of LeBron James - and has a case as the greatest season ever played Note: Not THE hill I’d die on, per-say. But an argument that should have a lot more credence than it gets. Let me explain why 🧵

Also maintaining >0.3 3PR, career low in sTOV% (overall TOV% asw) and a career low in On-Ball% Obviously this triple guard lineup is amounting to something good so far, let’s see if it holds up
A career-high 49% of Victor Wembanyama's shots are coming at the rim so far this season. His dunk rate is 28.6%, well above last year's career-best of 18.1%.

Kornet thoughts. Not going to give up on him just yet as further optimization of his role is due, but it’s possible regression is already hitting.
#Spurs coach Mitch Johnson on Luke Kornet’s early struggles this season: “ I think that part of that is the four guys (who) are out there with Luke need to be better. Sometimes, the Luke thing gets so exasperated because (the narrative) is Luke vs. Victor, at times.
“If it’s the same four guys that are out there with both, it's not just a Luke thing. That means they got to be better as well.” #PorVida

The Charlotte Hornets on Feb. 11 are retiring the No. 1 jersey of Muggsy Bogues, the shortest player in NBA history at 5-foot-3. Bogues spent 10 of his 14 NBA seasons in Charlotte (1988-1998) and is the franchise leader in assists, steals and minutes.
