Globalism was never a conspiracy. It was something worse: an ideology that won.
Its founding belief was simple. Nations caused the wars of the 20th century, so nations had to be dissolved. Borders, cultures, armies, currencies, languages, loyalties. Everything that made a people a people was reclassified as a risk to be managed.
Look at the ten commandments I posted and you'll notice something. Every single one answers something globalism spent fifty years tearing down. That's not a coincidence. That's the whole point.
Sovereignty. Globalism needed to move decisions away from the people who live with their consequences. In 2005, the French and the Dutch voted No to the European Constitution. Two years later, the text came back almost unchanged as the Treaty of Lisbon and was ratified by parliament, without asking the people again. When Ireland voted No to Lisbon in 2008, it was made to vote again the next year. The lesson was clear: you may vote, as long as you vote correctly.
Borders. A border is the physical form of a people's right to choose. So borders became an embarrassment, then a moral failing. Immigration stopped being a policy a nation decides and became a "global phenomenon" to be "managed," as if it were the weather. The UN Migration Compact signed in Marrakech in 2018 called itself non-binding. Nothing that rewrites the vocabulary of every future debate is ever truly non-binding.
Merit. A world run by unelected institutions can't run on merit, because merit is measured by results and results expose you. So merit was replaced by process, committees, quotas, and careers built on knowing the right people in the right building. The administrative class became a caste, and castes don't promote competence. They promote loyalty to the caste.
Culture. We were told multiculturalism was about respect. In practice it meant the host culture had to step aside to make room for every other one. No one was allowed to say that a people has the right to remain itself. A culture that isn't allowed to defend itself isn't being respected. It's being dissolved, slowly and politely.
Optimism. In 1972, the Club de Rome published The Limits to Growth. Fifty years of the same sermon followed: there are too many of us, we consume too much, growth is a sin, the future is a catastrophe to postpone. A people convinced that its own existence is the problem will accept any restriction. Pessimism wasn't a side effect of globalism. It was its operating system.
Free speech. When you can't win the argument, you regulate the room. Brussels built the Digital Services Act, a machine designed to make platforms police what Europeans say. And the first platform it fined was X.
Self-defense. Globalism's ideal individual is a consumer protected by institutions, never a citizen capable of protecting himself. A disarmed citizen is a dependent citizen, and every freedom he has becomes something granted from above. Which means it can be withdrawn from above.
Energy. Germany shut down its last nuclear reactors in April 2023, in the middle of an energy crisis, while Brussels spent years debating whether nuclear power even deserved to be called sustainable. Cheap, abundant, domestic energy makes nations independent. Expensive, imported, rationed energy makes them obedient.
Family. The European Union's fertility rate is below 1.4. Replacement is 2.1. No war, no plague, no invasion has ever emptied a continent as quietly as this. And instead of treating it as an emergency, the system always had the same answer: we'll import the people we no longer have. A civilization that solves its future with substitutes has stopped believing in its future.
Building. Finally, globalism offshored the very act of making things. Factories to China, supply chains to the other side of the planet, centuries of industrial know-how traded for cheap goods and a service economy. A civilization that no longer builds ends up negotiating, then asking, then begging.
Put it all together and the design becomes visible. No sovereignty, no borders, no merit, no culture, no hope, no speech, no defense, no energy, no children, no industry. What's left is not a nation. It's a market with a flag.
That's why this system can't be reformed. It can only be replaced.
The ten commandments aren't a protest. They're a blueprint.
With everything happening right now, one thing is almost certain: globalism and the European Union are going to collapse, and sooner than anyone in Brussels is willing to admit.
So let's stop mourning the old world and start designing the next one.
Here are my proposals.
The Ten Commandments of the Western Renaissance
I. Every people is sovereign in its own home. It alone decides its immigration policy, holds its borders, and sets the rules of assimilation. No supranational body will ever decide in its place who becomes one of its own.
II. Merit becomes the law again. Hierarchy is built on competence, work, and results. Not quotas, not networks, not administrative castes.
III. Every nation's culture is a sacred treasure. Multiculturalism doesn't make cultures coexist. It dissolves them all. The only way to protect the world's diversity is to protect the uniqueness of each people.
IV. Optimism is a duty. No more prophets of degrowth who for fifty years have told us to be ashamed of existing, producing, and dreaming. The future is not a threat. It is a conquest.
V. Speech is free. A First Amendment for the entire West. No state, no platform, no committee has the right to decide what a citizen may think or say.
VI. A free people is a people that can defend itself. A Second Amendment for the West: the right to own a firearm and learn to use it. A freedom you cannot defend is just a permission.
VII. Abundant energy is the foundation of power. Massive nuclear, cheap energy, produced on our own soil. A civilization that rations its energy has already begun to die.
VIII. Family is the first pillar of the nation. A civilization that no longer has children has no future left to defend. Birth rates become a national priority.
IX. No transfer of sovereignty without the people. Never again a treaty imposed after a No vote. Every surrender of power goes through a referendum, and the people can always take back what they gave.
X. We build. Factories, power plants, rockets, AI, semiconductors. The West becomes once again the civilization that builds, invents, and sets out to conquer the stars.

Power is Power
The chart below shows electricity prices in Europe just now, priced per MWh. Just horrific and economically ruinous for any modern economy.
The world spends about $4.2 trillion on electricity and this is split between:
• Generation (2/3
• Transmission & Distribution (1/3)
The world spends around $1.5 trillion on capex and $2.7 trillion on opex. The $1.5 trillion capex gets you 1-2% capacity growth each year. So a rough rule of thumb is that every 1% of GDP you spend on power infrastructure gets you 1-2% more electricity.
If you wanted to grow your power supply by eg 8%, you might expect that to cost 6% of GDP. Nobody has the supply chain to do that, if you want to grow this particular supply chain it will cost you more GDP points on second order things.
Now…
Demand for power around the world is booming, because of 3 big technology trends.
1. Air Conditioning (yes still) +20% consumption
2. Electric Vehicles +80% consumption
3. AI Data Centers +XYZ% consumption
Different regions have different progress on these three trends. US has a lot of AC, little EV and a lot of DC, Europe has little AC, lots of EV little DC. China has a lot of AC and EV.
Now generation splits into fixed costs for the generator plant (site and technology specific) and variable costs for fuel.
Dispatchable Power Cost, by Fuel Type
1. $6 / MWh - Uranium
2. $19 / MWh - Nat Gas 🇺🇸
3. $22 / MWh - Coal 🇺🇸
4. $40 / MWh - Coal 🇨🇳
5. $90 / MWh - LNG
6. $130 / MWh - Biomass
7. $160 / MWh - Nat Gas 🇪🇺 🇯🇵
8. $200 / MWh - Oil
Fracking has given the US a structural energy cost advantage. If you talk to people in China about what is the most impressive thing the US has done they say “fracking”. The challenge with US Nat Gas is that it’s now fully developed and expansion is sort of tapped out.
What the 21st Century demands is a lot of power, you either have it or you don’t. When you look at planetary scale energy and compute trends you see myriad gigantic arbitrage opportunities.
Interesting times!
