🇺🇸🇰🇷Tomorrow Morse Tan, a former U.S. Ambassador and American citizen, has a hearing in South Korea that could put him in a Korean jail.
All because he repeated public reports about President Lee while speaking in Washington, D.C. last year.
They have held him with an exit ban for months, even blocking him from his own grandmother’s funeral. This is an ally prosecuting an American for speech made on American soil. It is ridiculous and should not be happening.
Washington needs to step in and make Lee Jae-myung pay.

That is the name they used for the subject of the federal search warrant on her Washington DC home.
The government is listing Ilhan Nur Said Elmi as the primary identity, with Omar as the alias.
This is part of the ongoing investigation into immigration fraud and false statements tied to her family’s entry into the United States.

Meanwhile Lee’s government keeps treating a U.S.-listed firm as a target, dragging out the dispute, and failing to deliver on the investment and fair-treatment commitments from the summit. Special Counsel Lee Tae-han's NEC Investigation Team Must Stop the Scaled-Down Investigation and Uncover the Truth Behind Core Election Allegations!
We express our strong regret over the fact that the special counsel team led by Lee Tae-han, investigating the National Election Commission (NEC), conducted a search and seizure of former NEC Chairperson Noh Tae-ak’s residence under the grounds of "overseas junkets" and "occupational embezzlement and breach of trust."
The original purpose of establishing the NEC Special Counsel and the demand of the public lie in uncovering the truth behind core allegations regarding the fairness of election administration and the voting/ballot-counting processes. Nevertheless, uncovering secondary allegations unrelated to the main issue against former Chairperson Noh, who was the top official in national election administration, raises strong suspicions that this is a classic case of beating around the bush and a scaled-down investigation to cover up the essence of the matter.
What the public demanded from the special counsel is not merely scratching the surface. Thoroughly investigating system-wide suspicions and ensuring overall transparency in election management is the fundamental duty assigned to the special counsel.
Therefore, we strongly urge Special Counsel Lee Tae-han's team to act on the following:
First, Special Counsel Lee Tae-han must immediately cease the scaled-down, watered-down investigation that distorts the core issue.
Second, the special counsel must not get bogged down in secondary investigations like overseas junkets, but must thoroughly and clearly investigate core election allegations.
Third, the special counsel must investigate to the very end the administrative responsibilities and the objective truth regarding former Chairperson Noh Tae-ak and key NEC officials.
The public is watching the direction of the special counsel's investigation with sharp eyes. We strongly warn that if Special Counsel Lee Tae-han continues to ignore the core issues and beat around the bush, he will not escape public judgment and severe accountability.
