Huge work has been done in Frankfurt region on the Optical Network
First, the migration to new Gridless Architecture of these 2 nodes:
- Datacenter Limburg,DE
- Equinix FR5 PoP
It includes also directly connected sites to these 2 nodes.
Turn up 800Gbps carrier lambda in our optical network. Now we can deploy new routers to support 400Gbps links in our Datacenter Limburg,DE.
Here are some numbers for the same capacity between Limburg and Frankfurt:
- enhance spectrum usage by 52% (from 937,5GHz to 450GHz)
- lower the cost per 100Gbps by 51%
- reduce our footprint by 33%
- reduce power consumption by 50% (from 0,6Watts/Gbps to 0,3Watts/Gbps)
Second, improve of the resiliency for Datacenter Limburg,DE + for all Frankfurt area with all other OVHcloud datacenters.
- took advantage of the Gridless Migration to split the ROADM node in 2 different photonic nodes
- integrated the new PoP Interxion FRA15 on our Optical Network which includes the move of one of the 2 fibers from Datacenter Strasbourg,FR to this new location
- turn up the new fiber between Datacenter Limburg, FR and the new PoP FRA15 adding diversity for the datacenter. Datacenter Limburg,DE has now 3 different paths to the external world
Kudos to the Teams ! Great job done !

Replying to @SilverStoneEU
@SilverStoneEU DS380 looking confused.
I guess it is because I am copying data locally from a luks encrypted btrfs to the zfs pool created by @TrueNAS Scale.
It is Debian based and therefore you can just install btrfs-progs 🙃
