Medicine is a calling, yes. But it's also a profession. Those two things aren't in conflict. They're supposed to work together.
Like wanting to be paid fairly makes the calling less pure. It doesn't. A doctor who's exhausted, underpaid, and stretched thin isn't serving patients better , they're just closer to burning out.
