Today I am going over why Nevada is suing and how Arizona joined it, but is asking for something different.

As severe weather and flooding continue to impact communities across the Navajo Nation, our departments, divisions and dedicated employees are coming together to support families during this difficult time.
A special thank you to the Navajo Division for Children and Family Services (NDCFS) for stepping up and delivering emergency food bags to communities affected by recent flooding and severe weather.
Food assistance has been delivered to Dennehotso, Kayenta, Piñon, Chinle, Shiprock and Tuba City, along with Tuba City DSR and ALTCS.
Each emergency food bag contains essential nonperishable items, including canned meats, soups, pasta, cereal, crackers, snacks and beverages, helping provide families with food during challenging conditions.
These efforts reflect the dedication of Navajo Nation employees who are working to ensure our people have access to essential resources when they need them most.
To the NDCFS team and all Navajo Nation divisions, emergency responders, chapter officials and community members working together during this time, thank you!
Your compassion, hard work and willingness to serve demonstrate the strength of our Navajo people. During times of hardship, we continue to look after one another, support our neighbors and stand together as one Nation.
Ahéhee’ to everyone answering the call to help our Navajo families.

5/6 The timeline: Aug 21, the feds released their 10-year plan. Aug 24, Nevada sued. Oct 16, Arizona joined — asking the court to throw out the 10-year framework but KEEP the two-year deal the three states negotiated. ksut.org/news/2026-10-20/ari…

6/6 What's at stake: Arizona faces a 760,000 acre-foot cut in 2027 — about a quarter of its share — and up to 3 million acre-feet a year in Lower Basin cuts. The forced plan would slash the Central Arizona Project's allocation by 77%. circleofblue.org/2026/world/…
