People often get in touch with MFW to ask how they can take part in our consumer boycotts. So here’s an explanation of what you can do, and why it matters.
The commitment we need (for people who want to make a difference) is to contact 1, 2, 5 or more advertisers from our data lists each week, telling them why you demand they stop funding the misogyny, hate and lies expressed by the media personality or program/channel you choose.
There are two ways to contact advertisers. You can use the data lists via our MFW website mfw.org.au, or via our web-based app at app.mfw.org.au. In either case, follow these instructions:
1. Click on campaigndata.mfw.org.au (#ToYourBrooms link on our sites) for all our #ToYourBrooms advertiser boycott campaigns. These target individuals, programs and/or media orgs which are the worst in terms of broadcast hate and lies. They currently include:
- #BinBen (Ben Fordham/2GB)
- #NewsCorpse (Rupert Murdoch’s papers and Sky News)
- #SquishSpotlight (Kerry Stokes’s Spotlight TV show)
- #TuckOff (Tucker Carlson) and
- #VileKyle (Kyle Sandilands/KiiSFM).
2. Click on murdochfreeworld.mfw.org.au for our #MurdochFreeWorld supplier campaign, which targets businesses which stock or supply Murdoch- or Stokes-owned content.
It’s easy to take part. Just find and click into on the hashtag campaign (as above) you prefer, and locate advertisers you currently use (or might use). Contact them via the email or social media details supplied. Tell them you’ll stop buying their products/services unless they stop funding the content you object to, and explain your specific objections. You can even tell them what they’re funding goes against their own Code of Conduct or Mission Statement (find these on their websites).
Don’t take no for an answer, don’t listen to them say they don’t control where their advertising goes (this is rubbish), and keep it up with more advertisers. But please: always be polite. Currently, a few thousand witches a week do this. But if it were ten or fifty thousand, advertisers would pull out a lot faster.
We also need financial support, preferably with a recurring donation of $5 or $10 per month, or more if funds allow. We can’t run our campaigns without the wherewithal to pay our staff who work very hard to compile and analyse huge amounts of data we then supply to you. If it matters to you to reform our media, please assist:

mfw.org.au/merch/
Finally, since mass-reporting by the trolls who want media lies to prosper causes us to sometimes disappear from our platforms, follow us in as many places as possible:

Facebook: @MFWitches
Threads: @mfwitches
It’s a crucial time to get involved, since media lies are getting worse. They’re losing profits since more people see through their bullshit daily, and this causes them to publish for link clicks rather than truth. The only way to combat this is to show them they’ll lose more profit via losing advertisers unless they stop using outrage and deception to get attention.
Our motive isn’t to put these companies out of business or for journalists to lose their jobs. We just want the lies and lack of balance to stop. If Rupert Murdoch and other similar media outlets would choose to run their companies with relatively objective reporting, we’d quickly abandon our witchy campaigns.
What happens next, witches, is up to us all. If enough advertisers and suppliers pull out of supporting these awful companies, neither our politicians nor the media will fail to get the memo that we’re fucking tired of being lied to on a daily basis by journalists and companies who refuse to follow their own media codes. And they’ll quickly change.
Now’s the time for all of us to take a stand. We’re a collective of angry sweary witches who are determined to make a permanent difference.
And if we don’t do this, who fucking will?
Are you in?

Very disappointed to hear GG Sam Mostyn claim on @abc_breakfast this AM that the attack on Helen Haines had nothing to do with violence against women.
Because while we don’t know the primary motivation of the attacker (and may never do so), it’s clear to women that even if the terrible harm inflicted on Haines wasn’t specifically to do with her being a woman, the overt disrespect and hate directed towards women now in the media and politics (as demonstrated via our post yesterday) has created an environment where women are targets for disaffected and angry men everywhere.
Not sure if the GG is appeasing men or following @AlboMP’s line (yeah, the man who’s besties with both Sandipants and Trump and who’s also so deep in the vile misogynist Murdoch’s back pocket he can’t see daylight) or if she honestly hasn’t looked at this issue deeply, but she’s dead fucking wrong on this.
And her support for other women on this issue as a woman would have been appreciated. A big miss.
These pics (and those in the following two tweets) are a TINY number of the deluge of quotes we found yesterday which were publicly said by members of the Australian media (and a few equally-horrific politicians), witches.
There are dozens and dozens more such quotes we could publish, mostly aimed at women politicians but some aimed at women journalists, women activists, and even women sports and entertainment stars. Read these, and weep:
It’s ironic beyond belief that the reason MFW haven’t posted on the terrible attack on Helen Haines before now, or on all the other issues relating to outrageous violence towards women for some time, solely because we’re currently under attack ourselves legally, administratively, and personally.
It’s ironic beyond belief we still have two of our main Administrators mostly living away from their own homes because of repeated violent threats towards them personally, and even more ironic that not only will no Australian authority (including any police force) assist with these threats, but that our own PM still appears to be besties with the depraved and verbally violent Kyle Sandilands.
And it’s ironic beyond belief that our disgraceful media cohort (and most of our politicians) have already jumped to blame social media for all this shocking violence instead of even mentioning, in most cases, the FAR GREATER threat posed by our mainstream legacy media, who insist on defending and employing the men (and women) who said the quotes we’ve listed above. Of course there are negative issues in social media and much unacceptable content, but that behaviour has grown largely from the relentless attacks on women started by corporations led by people such as Murdoch and copied by so many other similar hateful men who want women silenced and, if necessary, harmed.
Anything for link clicks, and damn the fucking consequences.
We don’t yet know just why the perpetrator of the terrible attack on Helen Haines has hurt her so badly. But what we do know is that the PATTERN of male violence against women in Australia is very clear and plain to see, and it’s not only out of control but it’s relentless. Unacceptable. And shocking.
Yet apart from our successful MFW campaigns to get some of these creeps off air for good, few others with the power to act appear to be doing anything (or at least anything worthwhile) to stem the violence.
What the fuck will it take? Who will control the media oligarchs and their punch-down hate model of doing business?
Anyone?
(We send all our good witchy wishes for strength and healing to Helen and her family, and we desperately hope she gets better - as far as that’s possible - soon.)

All our thoughts are with @helenhainesindi and her family today, in the aftermath of what looks like a deliberate and violent attack.
While it’s too soon to know what happened or why, it seems clear to MFW that the way most media in this country have so staunchly promoted, defended or at the very least ignored the despicable ongoing violence and hate applauded or committed by Donald Trump’s goons and followers; the instigators of genocide and war; and the disgusting behaviour of other far-right individuals and entities in recent years must be at least partly responsible for a recent increase in more overt terror-driven and political violence.
We beg the Australian media to think more deeply about their refusal to condemn violent politicians and governments and other fascistic deadshits everywhere. If they refuse to, they’re complicit in the rising future threat to many people via their despicable and cowardly silence.
We’re so sorry, Helen.
Some time ago I asked a lawyer who specialises in CSA cases whether their workload had dried up since the Catholic Church has (mostly) cleaned up its act on CSA and she said no, because there are now HUGE numbers of CSA cases coming in from private schools as this is where the pedophiles all went when they couldn’t get away with it as priests any more.
I think about this a lot.

Dear UK press,
Your hate campaign has failed.

Controversial take: DIGGER is the most feminist film this viewer has ever seen.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD.
Why? Because most feminist films come from the viewpoint of women, who are (in general) begging men not to harm us, kill us or oppress us. And because the only men interested in such films are already (to some extent and notwithstanding that all men benefit from maintaining patriarchal control) are men who already don’t knowingly harm women.
That is: telling men who don’t already knowingly harm women not to harm women is both reductive and (in many cases) even harmful because it leaves such men confused and even angry at women. In contrast, DIGGER explicitly sets out how men endlessly harm women, and does so in ways men can’t ignore or wiggle their way out of. It clearly demonstrates how men have controlled the world for many centuries, and how this male power is destroying the planet (and will continue to do so).
Nor is this feminist commentary accidental: there are so many outright clues in the film that this is what it’s doing (there are more clues than these, but these are some of the main ones):
1. The deliberate joke told at Rockwell’s mansion during the meeting with the President about there being no women in the room;
2. The women in the “play within the film” are heavily subservient or at least a minor part of proceedings, yet while some of the women outside the “play within the film” have more power, all still exist as part of the play/film only insofar as they’re forced to react to the actions of the men;
3. The allegory of Digger Rockwell adoring his cat and his alter-ego Curtis Markson adoring his daughter and both being terrified of the deaths of those two females: this demonstrates how men (even terrible men) often adore the females in their lives (human or otherwise) while still not seeing them as equals, and that this predilection often confuses people into thinking such men care about the female as a gender (newsflash: many or perhaps most don’t);
4. The constant references in the play/film (both visual and verbal) to penis-coded objects and actions, cementing male-led power and destruction;
5. The monologue scene in the parliament clearly showed that nine out of ten politicians in the audience were male, and that this representation of women wouldn’t seem note-worthy to most as we’ve come to expect political power to be largely male;
6. The cruel protagonist (Digger, the climate-destroying mining magnate) in the movie was male, and the cruel protagonist (Kenny Rockwell, who runs a sinister Palantir-like surveillance operation as well as using ill-gotten mining profits to finance a play which diverts a post-apocalypse audience from doing something constructive about ongoing planetary destruction) in the play was also male; and
7. The constant annoyances and confusions embedded in the film are hugely reminiscent of the constant annoyances and confusions feminist women have with men in general in our everyday lives, and this felt like a deliberate comparison.
There’s a lot more to unpack and this tweet is already too long, but this is a deeply feminist movie which seems designed to show MEN how it’s their own gender which is destroying humanity itself as well as making the planet miserable for less-powerful women. And as stated earlier, it does this in a far more effective way than movies which instead beg men to care more about women. It also seems Cruise and all involved in DIGGER must have fully intended this message, tho how this all fits with Cruises’s Scientology beliefs (in particular) remains a bit of a mystery.
For this reason, the film is indeed a masterpiece. And everyone should see it. Particularly because a film now condemned as a box-office failure by a thoroughly misogynist cohort of billionaires, corporations and the media must have something important going for it.
Go see it if you can, ASAP.
Postscript: also interested in @SummersAnne’s take on our critique.
It doesn’t surprise us this newsreader broke down, but what does constantly surprise us is Australian newsreaders and media commentators don’t ever appear to give a single fvck about the relentless suffering in Palestine (in fact most shill for the IDF at every opportunity) …

How in the dogbothering fuck do we live on a planet where men who have lots of sex are all coded positive (Romeos and Don Juans and Casanovas and players and studs) while women who have lots of sex are all coded negative (whores and sluts and tarts and hoes and skanks and harlots and strumpets and nymphos and floozys and hussys and thots and trollops and slags)??
