Sione Fotu Returns Home to Utah as Leading Houston LB: 'Full Circle Moment' "I talked to my dad yesterday, and we were just talking not only because I'm going back and I'm playing the team that first played for, but it's meaningful football. A lot is on the line, a lot's at stake. This is the stuff that you dream of. So, I'm really just living the dream, honestly," Fotu said. si.com/college/houston/footb…

More Houston coverage from ESPN’s College GameDay this morning. Houston coach Willie Fritz had said this week he’s never been part of GameDay. Now he has. There was a specific segment about Conner Weigman & breaking down the offense as well

The wildest game I’ve seen this year. It had everything in it. Houston’s 10 point win over UCF does look a little better now, I’d say. Both #2 BYU & #8 Texas Tech going down has completely opened the gates for Houston to make the Big 12 title game & a CFP spot. It’s all on the table for UH, they’ve just got to snatch it now with a win over Utah.

ESPN College GameDay picks: Pat McAfee praised the Utah student section and immediately picked Houston right after that. Kirk Herbstreit was told by Susan Fritz to not pick Houston, but he does it anyway. How about Houston on this big stage. Nick Saban had a lot of praise for UH’s offense

Conner Weigman heading into Week 8: 26 total TDS (2nd in FBS) 20 passing TDS (2nd in FBS) 87.6 QBR (4th in FBS, only Big 12 QB in top 10) 2 INT (both were tipped in air) Top 10 in total yards, top 20 in comp% & yds per attempt 229 rushing yds, 6 TDS Most TDS & efficiency rating in Big 12

Alperen Sengun was incredible in the fourth quarter. He was taking over in the paint and made most of his free throws. Look at this and-one. 29 PTS, 7 REB, 7 AST, 7/8 FT, 50% FG, 2/4 from three, 1 STL, 1 BLK Rockets kept going to him and he delivered

Mind boggling from Amen Thompson. Rockets move to 2-0 to start season for the 1st time since 2017-18 when they won 65 games. Rockets were 1-3 vs Spurs last season, but this is a big win in game 2 of the year. Rockets led almost entire game & made plays in the clutch from KD, Amen, Sengun. Promising to see

Amen Thompson is arguably the most athletic player in the NBA. This just shouldn’t happen, but he blocked Wemby at the rim to win the game. Incredible. Wemby at 7-foot-4 and Amen at 6-foot-7, but it was Amen who made the play. Look how pumped KD is next to him. That’s how it’s done

Emanuel Sharp in his NBA debut made defense into offense as he did so often at Houston: 8 PTS, two 3’s, 1 REB, 1 STL Marcus Sasser: 17 PTS, 6/8 FG, 4/5 from 3, 2 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL Kingston Flemings in ATL debut: 0 PTS, 4 REB, 3 AST, 1 BLK Quentin Grimes in Lakers debut: 10 PTS, 4 AST, 2 REB, 1 STL, 1 BLK

UH QB Conner Weigman on his deep passes to Koby Young: “I put a big emphasis on that this off-season. We got to connect. We can't get some of these plays back. We get one opportunity, we gotta hit. There's no next time, no my bad. No, I’ll get it tomorrow. Like no, we gotta do it right now.”

Fred VanVleet on CJ Stroud: “Me and C.J. have developed a great relationship over the last few years. He's playing at an all-time level right now.” CJ Stroud making sure to rock that Astros baseball hat this time around, sitting courtside with TE Foster Moreau who he threw 2 TDs to in London.
