What an honor to be part of this @TIME project! AI isn’t inherently bad, but serious concerns exist and I’m grateful to help bring awareness!
TIME’s new cover: In a deeply divided nation, a new coalition is forming around one belief: AI is moving too fast. Inside the stories of nine Americans, across ideologies and professions, determined to slow down the technology reshaping daily life time.com/7377579/ai-data-cen…
I just finished, Artificial Intimacy by Sherry Turkle. To understand where we’re going, we need to understand how we got here, and how AI is already impacting our relationships.
I found this book informative, well-researched, and full of powerful stories. Recommended for anyone trying to think more deeply about AI and its impact on our humanity.

Can AI help manipulate an election?
AI-generated political manipulation isn’t just a technology problem. It’s a truth problem. Christians have a responsibility to verify before we amplify, and to remember the people on the other side of the screen.
Be truth amplifiers!
Can AI Erode Trust in the Upcoming Elections?
We are just weeks away from the 2026 elections and there are already documented cases of candidates using artificial intelligence to deceive voters. I just published a blog highlighting the importance of truth and our role in seeking and amplifying truth in the coming weeks.

The Axios story published today reports that executives at leading AI companies are planning for a potential catastrophic AI event, including a major cyberattack that could disrupt critical infrastructure.
Great work from @whosknave !
Rather than forecasting the future, I wanted to learn how AI has already changed the workplace.
So for @thedispatch, I spoke to a local legislator, radiologist, customer service agent, pastor, and lawyer about how AI is changing their work, both for better or for worse. A few takeaways:
- People save time with AI (esp. for tedious/rote tasks), but they also lose time dealing with everyone else's AI. Autonomous agents have made customer service harder, and a lawyer I spoke to fired a fellow attorney for turning in a completely unusable AI-written legal document
- "Jaggedness" is real. When the radiologist's hospital got an AI radiology tool, they found it to be very good at finding hard-to-spot cancers, but it would miss cancers that even human trainees could catch.
- The pastor told me young men are most likely to use AI for companionship. He said some struggle to talk to women and have an easier time trusting something that always agrees with them (yikes!).
Lots of nuggets like these in the full piece, I've attached a gift link to this tweet.

Pastor and musician, Randy Phillips invited me on his show, Backstage with Randy Phillips, to discuss what Christians need to know about Artificial Intelligence.

"I believe there’s about a 50% chance we all die because of the development of smarter-than-human AI systems," writes Geoffrey Irving.

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

This is deeply disturbing:
Anthropic secretly invited religious leaders to SF to advise them on AI safety, had them sign NDAs, but then primarily tried to convince them Claude has a soul & moral standing, all while wining & dining them to the max. 1/ tinyurl.com/preview/296b5z8z
Honored to be part of this discussion. We can’t allow AI to replace what God created for humanity.
At the Pro-Human Assembly in Washington, D.C., attendees talked less about jobs and policy, and more about their philosophy of life. newyorker.com/culture/the-le…
It was a surreal opportunity to talk about Faith and AI with @NewYorker !
Thank you, Becca Rothfeld for discussing this important topic!

The conversations are heating up and faith leaders are getting more and more engaged. I’m working with pastors across Austin right now about how the Church can collaborate and help their congregation and staff get ready for the Faith and AI conversation.
Join us! Here locally and across the nation. The church missed the opportunity when social media burst on the scene but we don’t have to miss this one.
