Jimmy, from Carbon, spent 10 months in jail, not for committing a crime, but for defending his family from a robber breaking into his home.
The criminal walked free. Jim paid the price.
When the government fails to protect us, we must have the right to protect ourselves. Canada needs a Castle Doctrine the right to defend your home without fear of prosecution.
Itβs time to put law-abiding citizens first and criminals last.

Politicians and bureaucrats are no more βemployedβ than pickpockets and burglars.
The Libertarian Party of Canada held its leadership race earlier this year.
And we are the only federal party where its leadership stands for the autonomy and liberty of all provinces across this country, including Alberta!

I fully support the Libertarians and their Deputy Leader, @MH_For_MP.
A well-spoken and dedicated young individual who genuinely cares about our future.
I don't care what happens next or how long it takes, as long as we stay true to our values and never lose sight of why we started.
The BC conservatives are going to have a majority government in BC.
They better lock in on this mandate and not mess it up.
The British Columbia Libertarian Party has now out lasted the Liberals.
BC United (formerly the BC Liberal Party) is now deregistered.

I recently joined @CoryBMorgan on the Western Standard to discuss my experience as a scrutineer during Alberta's October 19 referendum, the problems I personally witnessed with Elections Alberta, and the growing political movement on university campuses.
After spending over a year involved in the referendum, I think it's important to talk openly about what went wrong on voting day and what needs to improve.
A big thank you to Cory and the Western Standard for inviting me on and giving me the opportunity to share my perspective!

Just a point of mention here, I am in no way attacking all of the Elections Alberta staff that were present at the location. I saw a lot of people that were doing some really good work and put in almost as much work as I was doing, with no breaks as well too. However, the incompetence, especially from the senior staff, was on full display. And I'm fully ready to call them all out on it.
I just got off my shift of being a scrutinier with the UCP for this referendum and let me tell you there has been some major incompetence on display today with Elections Alberta.
Not only were they criminally understaffed, and they were rushing things through but that was causing issues with long lineups and the staff we're not checking things properly like ids, and we're just waving people through. I caught three different people on PR getting through the registration desk and we're about to be handed the ballots. The site supervisor was also yelling and berating staff publicly, and was actively swatting them, which I would call physical assault.
I ultimately accept the results that come from tonight. But to accept that Elections Alberta is competent enough to run this referendum is an absolute understatement.
