Your third helping of icy @IAGLeeds geophysics at #EGU18: awesome radar structures in #LarsenC ice shelf! Come ponder with me over a beer - Weds 17.30, X5.414. @MIDASOnIce @EGU_CR

With sunlight now reaching Antarctica, we can see the Larsen C iceberg (A-68A) in incredible detail: earthobservatory.nasa.gov/IO…

Drifting away is largely result of wind : earth.nullschool.net/#curren… For break-off (hi)story check @MIDASOnIce 's projectmidas.org/

After some initial back-and-forth movement, #LarsenC 's iceberg #A68 seems on drift now in @ESA_EO 's #sentinel1 composites

Offshore foehn winds have opened up the sea ice giving A68 the best chance yet to start sailing away from Larsen C. #Sentinel1 8th September
It's nice to see Larsen C by daylight again. Today (24/8) was the first clear sky #MODIS image highlighting the size of the #A68 iceberg

It’s about one or two kilometers in the north, and a bit more in the south, where the rift was wider to begin with teapaw.org/shaungvw/status/887608… – at Swansea, Wales

What size fap is there now between A68 and Larcen C? A few meters? Tens of meters?

A68 is starting to lose some chunks already! Still an enormous berg though teapaw.org/adrian_luckman/status/… – at Black Pill, Wales
Just as A68 gets its oficial name, Suomi NPP/VIIRS shows that it has broken into two pieces - A68a and A68b I guess?
