Today the Tories will pass an immigration bill that blocks entry to all care workers, cleaners, shop workers, delivery drivers & other low paid key workers.
On Thursday they will clap those same workers.
No amount of hand washing in the interim will make that okay.

Doesn’t matter how you think your politics has been aligned until now.
Conservatives are telling you that getting you back to work is worth more than your child’s health
Unless your child goes to private school of course in which case they can stay safe at home until September

This is so incredibly serious.
In 2016, a pandemic drill was carried out in Britain with shocking results. Devastated by cuts, the NHS was overwhelmed. The govt was warned, but did nothing and the Dept of Health suppressed the conclusions. What has happened in 2020 is a state crime.

If anyone deserves a break, it’s this phenomenal woman. Breaker of glass ceilings + blazer of trails - she’s served the Party as a member of Parliament since 1987 + has had to put up with more abuse than most of the others combined. I hope you have many a mojito next weekend ❤️
As I previously announced, today I step down as Shadow Home Secretary. I want to thank all those members and affiliates, all the NGOs and stakeholders, and my loyal staff for all their wonderful support - and to pay a special tribute to @BellRibeiroAddy. The struggle continues
