The only “touristy” bus Milwaukee has had were these trolley buses that were eventually replaced by our streetcar route back in 2018. Either way open top buses really only exist in major US cities like New York, LA and of course Chicago
MCTS currently runs 153 buses on Saturdays, which is down from 175 buses during 2023/2024. Only 4 routes ran every 35-60 minutes, now that number has increased to 16 routes. Six routes ran every 15 minutes or less but now only 2 routes run every 15 minutes on Saturdays.

THE RECORD BREAKING CITY OF MILWAUKEE!!!
The Milwaukee Police Dept. estimates 750,000 people attended today’s parade downtown and rally at the Summerfest grounds for the World Series champion @Brewers. “Preliminary research shows this may have been the largest crowd for a single day event in state history,” said MPD.
We have a lot of bus stops like this in Milwaukee, usually in suburban areas where there’s no cross street to name the stop after. The funny thing is I used to live at an apartment and the bus in front of it was literally the apartments address 😭
Out of the 5 routes that are running with extra buses, route 57 has been the only route so far that has been able to run without many delays. The route is basically running high frequency service with 7 buses, which is an extra 3 buses than usual.
For the first time since the 2010s MCTS will be running extra buses to help with crowds during an event. 5 routes will run with extra buses to help riders attend the brewers parade. It’s so great to see MCTS run extra service even when they’re still experiencing budget issues.
my timeline is full of milwaukee mentions this is great
The best team all season left no doubt. Congrats to the @Brewers and everyone in Milwaukee on your first World Series title!
I’m so jealous of the twin cities, they are basically the only metro area in the US that has been able to actively expand its ABRT/BRT network.
if you genuinely think Tiffany will actually make gay people in Wisconsin feel more safer, you must be in some type of psychosis lol
you know you messed up as a agency when the general public (and not just avid public transit users) is complaining about the timing of a planned shutdown and how it will affect their travel plans when everyone will be out partying
Green Line: Due to signal modernization work there will be no service between North Station & Babcock St (B), Kenmore (C+D), & Heath St (E) Oct 31 - Nov 1.
Use buses for service to Copley/Back Bay. Use Orange Line between Back Bay & North Station.
