Europe ain’t America and it doesn’t feel the same.
I had Davened just before him, but watching this fellow Daven alone in a room full of European gentiles at the Amsterdam Airport before boarding to Warsaw, warmed my heart.
Like Avraham Avinu, we aren’t looking to be the most popular or to be accepted, we don’t hide or mind the thousand eyes looking at our prayer shawl and leather straps on our arm; we seek to remain connected to Hashem, even if it’s uncomfortable, and to be a shining light in a dark world.
