Today I had the privilege of moving a motion in Parliament recognising 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘀 𝗢𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝗔𝗠 for his extraordinary service to veterans, mental health awareness and the wider community. After serving 20 years in the Australian Defence Force, including active service in Iraq, Dennis turned his own mental health struggles into a mission to help others. His vision led to the creation of the 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝗡𝗭𝗔𝗖 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀 , a peaceful space built by veterans, for veterans, honouring more than 700 local men and women who have served our nation.
