Want to run A/B tests at your company? I've spent the last 16 months building an experimentation program - the processes, infra, and teams to run large scale online experiments.

Curious if there are any online “start a business” courses that aren’t actually scams/just selling dreams. I’m trying to steel man the case for these courses. Happy to hear from students who’ve taken such a course, course creators, anyone else.

Data science ~= better business decision making It’s just another tool in your arsenal. But it’s a superpower. Use it to you to optimize every biz function and build better and new products. E.g (small) better lead target leads in marketing or (big) acquire entire companies

Love @ColinKeeley s content. Highly recommend
An ex-Googler built a $220m company by creating software for flooring stores. They scaled to $10s of million in revenue in just a few years. The wild story you've never heard of 🧵

For those who have heard the phrase “Think like an owner”, what does it mean to you? Curious how others interpret it…

Your level of ownership as an employee is a lagging indicator. A leading indicator is (# times your manager looks to you for decisions - # times you ask your manager for decisions). Implication: go to your manager with well thought out solutions. Not problems.

Want to thrive in your career? Become a problem identifying and solving machine. Start with your own problems. Then expand the market. Think about your team->department->company. The bigger the problem, the higher you'll go. A business is just a market problem-solving unit.

Haven't double checked the code, but even if it does make errors, the value Code Interpreter brings in terms of speed to insight is just insane. Here it is calculating historical returns on portfolios...

I’ve been using GPT4 to brainstorm new/better ways to manage my data science dept. The results have been great so far. Here’s the exact prompt I use to start the conversation. Anyone else doing something similar?

Key to building an experimentation program is aligning a diverse set of stakeholders from your org on strategy and execution. How did we do this at 2U? A thread.

The data science team plays a strategic and tactical role. Tactically they're the statistical domain experts. Strategically, they keep the group on track to solving its goals.
