Medicare open enrollment has begun, and Mississippi officials are urging residents to be cautious of scams.
Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney said, "Some out-of-state agents may use illegal tactics to sign up customers and collect multiple commissions."

“To put it simply, the agents lied on their applications,” Chaney said. “The cases were scheduled for hearings on October 15, 2026. However, none of the agents showed up to defend themselves, and the licenses were revoked immediately.”
