It looks like markets are going through a subtle regime shift. Higher energy prices no longer mean higher rates forever; instead, the long end is starting to express a little more fear about growth. The upcoming US midterms may also be playing a role. It looks like there is some defensive rotation underway into the Swiss franc, the yen and sterling. think.ing.com/articles/fx-da…

Large ($eur 4+bln) $eurusd #options rolling off today at 1.1195-00. Same amount also expired yesterday at 1.1265 helping to cap at 1.1261. Apart from the fickle variables right now these are flows that you also need to understand when identifying ranges/risk-reward. #forex

Trevor Bailey, Essex v Surrey, Ilford, May 18th 1955. A genuine allrounder, Bailey scored 28641 runs at 33.42 and took 2082 wickets at 23.13. In 61 Tests he made 2290 runs at 29.74 and took 132 wickets at 29.21. He was a good footballer and after retiring spent 26 years as part pf the TMS team

The dollar is down a fraction versus the commodity currencies, but up a fraction against the low-yielding yen and Swiss franc – the latter driven by some US equity stability and a modest back-up in short-dated US rates.
