It's #WorldBookDay!
If you're thinking "Hey I should read one of those fucking things instead of doomscrolling this shitty app", then buy my book Becoming All Elite: The Rise of AEW!

Hangman Page really is good. He is the one wrestler who can say "[x match] changes you". Texas Death was the nexus of his downfall, redemption, and last stand. A trite line from anybody else, from him, it was as real as it gets.
DX or the nWo? Austin or Goldberg?
Pose a significantly more creative wrestling dilemma below, and we might just bloody answer it on Dilemmalina.
Get 'em in now; we're recording the pod tomorrow.
The sound of a last minute winner
“I haven't heard a reaction quite like that because the very funny thing about that reaction if you listen to it back, it's the pitch that gets you. It's like a different noise that I've never really heard,
— It's like they're all saying, ‘Yeah’ at the same time. The pop doesn't start with an H, it starts with a Y. You know what I mean?”
- Sami Zayn on the pop he got at the 2023 Royal Rumble

I'll never, ever understand what anybody is meant to get out of these references even if the target audience understands them, which time and time again has proven not to be the case. You can't with a straight face mock the Firm and book these lads like this at the same time!
The worst thing Metallica have done this month
Ciampa should have done the spot, got the pop, laughed and revealed that he was just taking the piss, then get rolled up for a near-fall. You get a second pop and avoid the controversy.
Clockwork Carnage is a great idea on its own terms, but you can't do four hours of gratuitous near-fall porn and then book that as the main event. AEW has trained its audience too poorly for the falls in the second phase to have the maximum impact.
The fuck does Regal do exactly? NXT is the dirt-worst for fundamentals
I work for WWE but watch a lot of wrestling worldwide. This goes for all wrestlers in all companies. I have worked in Wrestling for 42 years. An observation. We are portraying trained pro fighters with instincts ( even comedy bouts). If you don’t win you would make less money in the story we’re telling. Every TV bout , if there’s a pin, the cameras focus in. Please pin and kick out like your life and career depend on it. In story, it does. I’ve also been a part of knowing most talent since the 2000’s in many companies. As time goes by younger talent copy their favourite of film. I recently watch AJ Styles v Amazing Red from the early 2000’s. I see how many people copied them. What I saw was every pin was aggressively applied and shoulders covered and stacked. Every kick out they kicked out like their life depended on it. Something has been lost in the last 20 + years. Let’s not insult the intelligence of our audience who are giving us their precious time. In a fight scene in a movie ( which is what wrestling is) we know the punches don’t really hit but if we saw that we would eventually stop watching it. Your audience and fans deserve better. If you can’t be uncomfortable for a few seconds being stacked up in a pin, maybe this isn’t for you.

I told you about Paul Heyman many, many moons ago. #theseeroftime
Ospreay Vs. Okada was like taking a strong shot of resurgence New Japan, a fantastic, relentless made-for-TV edit
When Jon Moxley Vs. Orange Cassidy began, I was sad and not really in the mood. When it was over, I was so grateful that pro wrestling exists.
