Three things. Every week. Yes, again.

When you see a new West Nile case count, you're reading the recent past. Bite, then symptoms, then a doctor, then a test, then confirmation, then reporting. Each step adds days. Reported this week isn't caught this week. Don't wait for the number to move.

Rain fell around Compton this week. Now a Heat Advisory runs through Saturday, highs in the 90s. Warm standing water breeds mosquitoes fast. Take 10 minutes: tip and toss water in buckets, saucers and drains. Use EPA-registered repellent.
