Watching this video of a school being demolished in Hopley broke something in me. When we are fighting to protect young people from falling into drugs we are out here demolishing schools. The real scandal here is the system that created this situation. Ordinary people did not wake up and steal land but were sold stands, given papers, assured by people in authority that they were safe. We saw the same situation in St Martins when a Council owned and run Pay-Scheme was disowned in the heat of political pressure. How can the same system that looked away, or profited, or connived with land barons come back to punish them for trusting it? Land barons do not operate in a vacuum but thrive where Council is weak, compromised, or complicit. Council officials who should protect public land have instead been enabling its illegal sale. So to be clear accountability must start at the top, not at the bottom. Council authorities who connived with land barons, who issued or tolerated fake papers should be held accountable. Victims should not be made culpable for a failure of governance. Why have we not seen any Council official being held responsible @mafume We must prosecute the land barons and corrupt Council officials and have commissions that have tangible results.

Dear Afrophobes; there is no car that was stolen in South Africa. The complainant in this case is the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA), not South Africa (SARS) and the allegation is about evading customs duty. Since most of you don鈥檛 even have a tax code, you don鈥檛 know how these things work! You are crying at the wrong funeral and I see there is that Political Prostitute form MK chaos is feeding you with ignorance! Sit down!

Yes investment is good we agree but treat everyone equally, because he funds the game does not mean he should project how it's played and managed he has to prove himself to build talent not to force anyone to respect his decisions because he so chooses...then what is sport 馃
Zimbabwean football cannot afford to lose Pedzai "Scott" Sakupwanya. The Scottland FC president has signalled he may stop funding the game next season, saying administrators, match officials and false friends have treated his club unfairly. Whatever one thinks of his style, the numbers tell a clear story. In three years he has taken a club founded in 2023 to a league title, paid players better than anyone in the country and drawn new sponsors into a cash-starved league. His exit would leave a hole that no other investor is ready to fill. What his investment has delivered Players are finally paid like professionals. After promotion, Sakupwanya told his squad he wanted them to be rich, and his match-day bonuses now dwarf standard league wages. Warriors captain Marvelous Nakamba has publicly thanked him for changing footballers' lives, noting that a playing career is short and players deserve fair pay. He is building what the game lacks, infrastructure. Scottland plans a US$30 million home stadium in Mabvuku and is putting up modern facilities to give players a professional environment. Most Zimbabwean clubs still rent run-down municipal grounds. He has pulled corporate money into the league. Scottland attracted about US$12 million in sponsorship, with backing from Ecobank, Sakunda Holdings, IMC Communications and others . Money that enters the league circulates through transfers, wages and gate takings. Fans are coming back. Big-name signings such as Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona, the league's highest earner, have filled Rufaro for marquee fixtures . Sakupwanya argues that well-funded clubs have rekindled interest in local football. The results raised everyone's standard. In 2025 Scottland became the first club since Black Rhinos in 1984 to win the title in its maiden top-flight season . The project reaches beyond football. Sakupwanya frames Scottland as a way to stop the drain of talent abroad, fight drug abuse among young people and revitalise Mabvuku . ZIFA and the PSL can keep investors in the game without lowering standards. A lawyer has asked ZIFA and the PSL to examine a leaked recording linked to the CAPS United match, and there has been no finding of wrongdoing . A fast, transparent process clears an innocent club or holds a guilty one to account. Either way it ends the cloud of rumour. Football officials need to treat investors as partners . Regular dialogue with club owners on licensing, stadiums and fixtures builds the confidence that keeps money in the game.
