Twenty years ago we wrote a Wi-Fi book. September 12, 2026, marked the 20th anniversary of the publication of the very first (CWNA) Certified Wireless Network Administrator Study Guide from @Sybex Publishing. Back in 2006, my co-author David Westcott and I started something that neither of us could have imagined would still be going strong two decades later. Over those 20 years, Westcott and I have written six editions, a deluxe hardcover edition, and even had the book translated into Simplified Chinese. Along the way, we also co-authored three other wireless networking books together, while both of us somehow found the time for numerous writing projects of our own. There have been a lot of late nights, rewrites, diagrams, technical debates, and deadlines along the way. But through all of it, writing the CWNA Study Guide has truly been a labor of love. We’re obviously proud that the book has been used as wireless networking curriculum at universities and training programs around the world. We’re also proud that so many people in our industry consider it one of the best enterprise #WiFi reference guides ever written. That means a lot to us. But what means the most has nothing to do with book sales, editions, or rankings. Over the years, people have stopped us at conferences, sent emails, or reached out on social media to tell us that the book helped them pass an exam, get their first wireless job, advance their career, or simply become better Wi-Fi professionals. Westcott and I are genuinely humbled by those stories. When we wrote that first book 20 years ago, we never imagined the impact it might have on other people’s careers. Happy 20th Anniversary to the Sybex CWNA Study Guide! @CWNP #CWNA
