Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face.
These results were only possible because outstanding candidates stepped forward in every region of the country — including in areas once considered long shots. They came from different backgrounds and represented a range of political perspectives, but were united by shared values, a belief in public service, and a commitment to putting the people of their districts and states first.
We also owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of election officials and volunteers from both parties who helped ensure a smooth election and carried out one of the most essential functions of our democracy.
While this administration has another two years in office, our job now is to roll up our sleeves, make changes wherever we have the power to do so, prevent further damage, and lay the groundwork for the future.

It says much about The Labour Party that they invested so much hope in an unopposed, rather lacklustre, inexperienced and out of his depth manchild - he was hardly a great MP back in the day under Blair.
Having dumped the gobby Fabian Mayor on the UK, they must now be starting to realise the low limits of their collective intelligence. And this is a problem for Labour; over the last few years they seem to have convinced themselves that intellect and wit are a far right construct.
But groupthink Fabianism is a comfort blanket for those who hate critical thinking and it's all about pretending you know what you're doing.
Look across cabinet, and it's plain to see that no one has the experience or apptitude for their portfolio. This is a naive, pretend government that resembles a dysfunctional parish council.

ANDY BURNHAM
Labour issued instructions to party members to praise his speech.....
Signs of Communist nations.

I have not seen the slightest indication that Burnham realises, even for a nanosecond, how utterly fucked Britain is. I don't think he has any inclination of how hated politicians are either. He just wafts through life, completely oblivious to anything of consequence, and thinks public disaffection is remedied with cheap bribes and gimmicks. I still have no idea what the man stands for, or even if he stands for anything at all. He might very well be the most pointless politician of all time. He may as well be a life-sized cardboard cut-out, and I'm not wholly convinced that he isn't.

Darren Jones is a class act.
I’ve a lot of hope for him being a great leader of the Labour Party and PM one day. Integrity and ethical competency are prized qualities!
Thank you @darrenpjones and please keep working towards your goals.
DARREN JONES: I WAS ASKED WHETHER I WOULD CALL FOR KEIR STARMER TO RESIGN
By @PronouncedAlva
Jones has a fascinating way of delivering sharp criticism or warnings in a casual, matter-of-fact way, as if unaware he is doing it. He says he always knew he wasn’t getting a job in Burnham’s cabinet. When he tallied up the number of people the incoming Prime Minister owed jobs to – “people who had evidently done deals, or called for Keir to resign in public or had resigned themselves, plus people he needed to bring back who had not been in the cabinet and had supported the coup… the numbers didn’t add up”. He doesn’t shy away from the idea that some of the most prominent figures in the cabinet knifed Starmer in the back in return for a job at the top table.
He reveals, still ever-so-casually, that he was asked to make a deal himself. “I was approached indirectly and asked whether I would call for Keir to resign in return for something, but I was very clear that I wasn’t going to do that.” Something being a cabinet job? “I mean, that was my interpretation of the message. But that’s just not how I conduct myself.”

THE PLP FELL FOR IT
Starmer wasn’t simply criticised.
A relentless, heavily funded right-wing campaign worked to convince voters that Labour was failing.
Money, media & social media amplified the message.
But the biggest mistake was inside Labour itself.
The PLP bought into it

My god. The Labour Party has completely lost its mind. Total insanity. We are governed by clueless, facile imbeciles. This government-by-coup is new low for British parliamentary democracy.

Wishing Keir Starmer all the best for the future.
I was surprised to hear he was standing down from Parliament. But I can understand why he would not want to spend time with the Labour MPs who treated him so badly after he won them their seats.

We can save a lot of time, a lot of unnecessary pain. Simply accept that eventually Darren Jones will be the next Labour leader. Unfortunately it looks like Labour will have to lose an election before that happens
Will it take yet another coup?

What I want to know is what is @andyburnham going to do when he runs out of @Keir_Starmer 's ideas?

Andy Burnham: 'It has gone down like a bucket of sick'

Fact check.
In January 2026, @Keir_Starmer announced a support package for pubs and live music venues, including:
A 15% discount on business rates bills from April 2026, on top of earlier support.
A two‑year real‑terms freeze on pub bills.
So, is @andyburnham selling a 5% discount as a 20% or is he adding a 20% discount on the existing 15% bringing it to a 35% discount?
It seems like it’s the second. If so, why adding an extra discount on a category that was already benefiting of one when there’s plenty of business struggling in the Uk?
Could it be because message of Starmer’s cut had been hardly mentioned by the press despite being popular, while for Burnham, it sounded like the perfect horse to ride?
Andy Burnham has announced he will cut business rates for pubs by 20 per cent.
The new Prime Minister said on Thursday that the levy would be cut for pubs, clubs and live music venues from April next year.
