Glenn T. Cronin

Press release from the office of Police Chief Glenn Cronin: I am pleased to announce a significant milestone for our Police Department that directly impacts our community's safety and service standards. Recently, the Malden Police Department has successfully achieved accreditation by the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission (MPAC). @MassAccred Accreditation by MPAC signifies that our department has met rigorous standards of professionalism and excellence in law enforcement. This accreditation process is a comprehensive evaluation of our policies, procedures, and practices, ensuring they align with the best practices in the industry. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of every member of our department, who consistently strive to uphold the highest standards of service to our community. It reflects our commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. I would also like to extend our gratitude to Mayor Christenson for his steadfast support throughout the accreditation process. His leadership and advocacy have been instrumental in helping us achieve this milestone. In addition to Mayor Christenson, I would also like to recognize and thank Captain Dan Catana, our Accreditation Manager, who worked tirelessly to ensure that the MPD stayed the course and completed this monumental task. As your Police Chief, I am immensely proud of this accomplishment, as it underscores our ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and strengthen community trust. Accreditation by MPAC not only validates our practices but also reinforces our pledge to serve you with integrity and respect. Moving forward, we remain committed to maintaining these high standards and continually improving our services to meet the evolving needs of our diverse community. We encourage your feedback and engagement as we work together to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents. Thank you for your continued support and trust in the Malden Police Department. Happy Juneteenth! Chief Cronin, assisted and attended by other MPD officers, raised the Juneteenth flag with its red, white, and blue colors, echoing the iconic colors of the American flag in recognition of Juneteenth. We hope that most of you are able to enjoy a day off, making some time to celebrate and commemorate the holiday. If you’re out and about today, please stay hydrated and in a shaded area when possible. Stay safe and be well.
